@BigUmpire

Agreed.

And to contradict my own post earlier in this topic, keep turf. Rained here yesterday. Hard. Everyone else was rained out. I was at University of Kansas and we were only delayed an hour fifteen. Thank god for AstroTurf.

AstroTurf needs to burrrrn. Especially AstroTurf in indoor fields, that makes no sense to me.there's this crazy thing called photosynthesis. ...maybe you've heard of it? :smachhead::spit::givebeer: Our fieldhouse has grass.

OBR - absolutely nothing. All youth leagues - mandatory for ALL coaches and managers to attend minimum of 8 hours of umpire meetings before the season starts.

In FED time limits between innings like NCAA rule.
There is one... it's a minute starting with the 3rd out of the previous half inning Edit: 6-2-2 Exception (long comment). Found it so I figured I would cite it :)

Not sure about new ones, but how about actually enforcing the batter's box rules between pitches.

Jay Bruce practically walks back to the dugout between pitches.  Keep a foot in the box fellas.

I think anytime a batter/runner is put out and continues in the field of play and draws a throw they should be liable for INT.  You're out.  Get off the field.

That OBR rule is for MiLB only. Doesn't apply to MLB.

I do

Had a HS player take forever adjusting EVERYTHING he had on between pitches.

Told the catcher to go tell his pitcher to bring it on my signal when this guy started this next inning.

He did, I called a strike and O BOY did I have his coach right by my side quickly.

BUT he nor anyone else ran the Nomar Garcia Para fashion show anymore that game.

And yes I got a phone call on this by a Ga state official.

1.  Any bat made out of anything but wood is illegal.

2.  All batting orders must contain NINE hitters, no DH, EH, or continuous lineups.

3.  No courtesy runners.

4.  No dead-ball appeals.

5.  Balks remain LIVE.

6.  Coaches who allow 11-12 year olds to throw curve balls shall be castrated.

Hadn't really considered this until today, when I came jumping in my lap. NFHS Type A & B OBS.

I don't much care for 5.09(e) making a runner retouch the base after a foul ball and before putting the ball back in play, but I'm not sure there is a better solution to it, must return to the area of the base is too ambiguous and would cause too many headaches.  Doesn't mean i have to like it though.

If ejected a coach must wear a clown costume for his next game, and walk on stilts to coach bases or make pitching changes that game

The infield fly rule would apply with only a runner at first.  Why set up the potential for letting the ball drop to get a double play?

If the trajectory is high enough to be a fly ball and the batter runs hard to first, it seems to me that this is almost never an issue.

To set up the potential to call a batter out who doesn't hustle.

Apparently it ain't a rule. I suggest making it a rule that any one making a post/reply in the "Funny Stories" forum must make it funny.

She was in the kitchen doing the boiled eggs for breakfast.

He walks in.

She says, "You've got to make love to me -- this very moment."

...

He thinks, "This is my lucky day", and gives it his all on the kitchen table.

He says afterwards, "What was that all about?"

She says, "The egg timer's broken."

Implementation of the insult fee:

For every insult by a coach/player/parent made against an umpire - that person shall place a predetermined amount of money into the umpire's jar for future beer purchasing at that particular crew's discretion.

A mechanic shall be created to signal to a coach that a qualifying insult had been made.  If all umpires make the signal in unison upon hearing the insult, the manager shall place the insult fee into the jar within 2 minutes.

If the manager fails to pay the fee within 2 minutes, if on offense - their half inning is immediately ended.  If on defense, the offense shall load the bases with courtesy runners and all outs made by the defense shall be cleared.

Remove the requirement to inspect equipment in youth ball.  Leave that liability completely with the coaches.

Yep.  This prevents the coach from putting out the same gear game-after-game just to see if he can get away with it.
