You guys are hilarious!

Do you also cover up the logo's on your cars, too?

Many years ago, my uncle went to pick up his new car. There was a metal dealer medallion on the left side of the trunk, and the dealers name also on the license plate frame. . My uncle saw them, asked how much he was getting paid for the advertising. Refused to take the car until they took them off. They obliged.

I take off any badging I can. None of my cars have the model or trim level on them. If the manufacturer badge wasn't on a raised metal bed it would come off too.

Yes, I've turned into my grandfather. 😃

Unpopular opinion.... I dont like plate coats. To make this CP related, having your CP busting through the coat doesnt look good.

That is why you could go the Dan Iassogna route with the shirt over. There is a photo of it above.

Bu-bu-but how will you ever let the world and thousands of impressionable umpires know you’ve got – and, by associative encouragement and messaging, they must go and purchase – a Wilson Gold CP??!!

I at some point will contact All American to see if I can get a decal to stick on my AA so it shows up better

Might be a bit challenging… All-American folded as an equipment manufacturer back in the late-90s / 2000. Any assets or IP that are alive today are within reconditioning services or resale. IIRC, All-American, the manufacturer, was different than the All-American, the sports equipment reconditioner that was located in Illinois… but I could be wrong…

… since somebody might do a whole bunch of desk-chair research and cite the historical particulars of All-American, just cuz…

So a very quick Google search pulled up this company. It might be the same company or one that was bought from the original. But that emblem just doesn't look a hell of a lot like the sticker on the breast plate of my AA!

What do we think about the blue? I kinda dig it

+POS used to have a powder blue turtle neck with the +POS logo on the neck.  Very sharp and good quality.  Man, +POS used to be the bee's knees in umpire gear.

Sure. 15 in Douglas with RayFlex harness and 15 inch +Pos BB2000 with F3 harness. +Pos hasn't gotten much use from me even with the better harness.

Back in the day--when Parsons had good stuff--I had the Kevlar segmented chest protector in an older version than the one depicted here.  It was spectacular!  It was around the time I had had open heart surgery, and my cardiologist didn't want me doing the plate for two months!  I would have missed the whole season, so I showed him the chest protector, and he relented!  He was actually impressed.  The structure resembled that of a police "Second Chance" vest.

I bought new equipment a few years later and donated that gear to the Euro Regional Umpire development program.

Uhm, dd, that last experimental material isn’t sprayed on… being that it’s described as a polymer, it is likely cast, extruded, or injected into a mold. While I’m equally intrigued by its potential, the (rather poorly written) article doesn’t even hint as to how it behaves or is realized as. Even Kevlar is “stronger and lighter than steel”, but is utterly useless as a structural material.
