OK ... that's fricken genius right there!!!!!!!!   So, ... the Schutt padding will receive the velcro tape obviously?

I just used the velcro that comes stock on the schutt padding jacket. The only velcro tape I added was the the back of the Gold plates.

Tried the Schutt padding idea on my Douglas. This is with no mods whatsoever. Fits well, but not for me, went back to the original padding.

What didn't you like about it? Thanks

I would have to modify the padding because there is a shoulder piece attached to it which is unnecessary with the Douglas shoulder caps. It would be easy to remove them but I want to keep it for my actual Schutt HDX. Also, just smacking myself in the chest made me feel a little more than I'd like which doesn't happen with the Schutt plates.

Those flaps are unnecessary, full stop. 🛑

When an XV is properly fit, they don’t line up with your shoulders, or the pauldrons, correctly either. Even from the AiR Flex I and II, Schutt never corrected it. You don’t really need them; the lining on the underside of the pauldron is adequate enough. I just trimmed those two flaps off, and my shoulder profile got that much slimmer. If you really needed that padding, the thing to do is trim them off, and either Chicago-screw them to the underside of the pauldron, or use Velcro (ala Douglas).

I removed these as well.

Sure. 15 in Douglas with RayFlex harness and 15 inch +Pos BB2000 with F3 harness. +Pos hasn't gotten much use from me even with the better harness.

And here I thought I was the only one.
From a friend of mine that's been empowering for 40 years, he said plus pause was top of the line for quite a while, and when they came out with their carbon fiber mask is when they took a dump.

I actually have the mask, and I can understand that it would be good for catchers but for umpires it's horrible because the bars are too wide and the way the pads wrap around it you have almost no visibility on the low side

Using the AllStar Cobalt, it's saved me a few gut shots, but the shoulder protection is a bit lacking... Also a sneak peak at my mobile locker room 9ae4cde5a9acec5773b71527aafe6808.jpgcd1e55103173679a0f97e47cdb9b0262.jpg798c7df4acfa436c55375b56164c1337.jpg58c98c157ad9b69666aa8a1ade293055.jpg

+POS. Plus POS. POS = Parsons Officials Supply.

It was top of the line because Dan Parsons (Senior), like CeCe Carlucci, was incredibly innovative and had attention to detail when it came to umpires. The “Samurai Scaled” CP may have been heavy, but at least it was an attempt to make a unit that conformed to your body.

The mask in question wasn’t carbon fiber, but instead a fiber-resin casting that took a swing at being the lightest mask on the market, in a market that until that time was dominated by millstone-like solid steel wire masks. It wasn’t the mask itself that was a failure, but instead the customer service handling of it in light of a few freak accidents suffered by it. The first few runs of the mask were prone to thermal cycle fatigue – the expansion of the material when heated up (in the sun), then a rapid cool-down and compression of it (put into a car trunk overnight), only to be immediately heated up again soon after. Micro-cracks would form, and then when shocked by a sudden impact or two, would shatter.

+POS changed the recipe for the fiber resin, and this eliminated the effect, but the damage was done on the buying public. Wilson delivered the coup de grace by securing the official endorsement of MLB, erasing the +POS label from any /all visible equipment seen during a game.

That I wasn't aware of. Most of what I know is that there was an issue with the mask like you described, and then the company went under because of that. I know that somebody within the last couple years bottom up and that their website is now up and running again. Up until about 3 months ago the scripts and the CSS were not running correctly, and you couldn't add anything to the cart. To be honest some of their gear actually looks decent

+POS was the bomb and everybody wanted to wear their gear.  I believe they actually had the first model of real plate shoes. And then the pops passed on and the customer customer service went downhill.  I sure hope they can get it together.

Actually just tried to order a couple things and their PayPal links on their payment page don't work and the only way to reach them is through their comments contact because your phone number does not work either which sucks

I would STRONGLY recommend against ordering from them.  You will find several threads on here in the Umpire-Equipment section dictating how many of us have tried to order and it goes into a black hole.  Eventually, you have to open a dispute with your card company to get your money back.

I'm not sure why the site is still up as the smartest thing for Dan (owner of +POS) to do would be to delete it now.  He clearly has no intent now of making sales or operating the service.  He doesn't answer calls or emails and hasn't honored an order in a long time now that I am aware of.  From what I understand, even guys that used to work closely with Dan are no longer able to place and receive orders.

Buyer beware and place orders at your own risk.

And before anyone asks, this isn't mine... this was the PU colleague on a MSBL WS game last year.

So you’re the one who stole that from me off eBay. I messaged her to ask for a buy now, she said she couldn’t and then she went and sold it to you. 😂😂

@tpatience Sometimes you just have to make the right offer and communicate with the seller about how eBay works 😉

I offered her 200 to your 50 lol

I paid more than 50. Lol that’s just what the listing was before the buy it now was completed. I don’t know why it shows up like that when you check the completed listings.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one! Lol

Every time I moved/removed padding on my Cobalt, I took a ball that the original placing would have stopped! Lol.

Price of getting the exact fit I wanted.
