There it is. Mission accomplished. I can definitively state, hand on heart, I have obtained and worn the best mask pads on the market yet to date. And this is coming from an umpire who is a sworn promoter and apologist for Team Wendy's 'til death. 

The mask is a Champro Rampage Magnesium, PC'd by MaskIt in Sky Blue Metallic, with the EvoShield WindPact CC pads and an UmpLife "Headhugger" V2 harness. I actually considered putting an All-Star Magnesium Sun Visor in this rig, until I discovered that the fit between a 4-stitch and this Rampage frame is so near-perfect, you wouldn't even see the visor (or, like, it wouldn't have any effect other than vanity). I'm not that vain. 

Game. Set. Match. 

 

I would love to see that in an action style shot..

 

I do not think the ?? carpet ??  shot does it justice..

I think this is absolutely gorgeous. This is a planform that should be resurrected and reintroduced to baseball. The Icon (AKA the Nike Titanium) planform is the sexy supermodel that just epitomizes baseball. Timeless beauty. The Teardrop is her equally attractive younger sister.

So do I but, I went the budget route. Couldn’t sell it, so I decided to chop it.  Set it up with Wilson all around.  Sorry Madmax. Now, to figure out if I send it to Tony to powder coat and what color?  Open to suggestions.  I have both colors of TW ready for the summer.

Mostly because they don't like the integrated throat guard on the mask and they are going to put a throat guard on it anyway. Also the aesthetics of the mask. If you really look at it, chopping the throat guard off gives the mask a more symmetrical look.

The extended TG on this mask is almost vertical. It’s cumbersome for me with a 6”. It almost rests on the CP. The options to me are; chop it and add a 6” TG, wear a 4” TG or don’t wear one. 
 

I have a 4” on a Nike. Couldn’t chop that.

My first mask I chopped was a Diamond. I had a weld break on the extention mid season and started wearing a throat guard over it as extra pprotection. I either had to wear it behind the extention which would push into my CP and push the mask up my face. Or I would wear it Adam Hamari/Bob Davidson style. And it would stick out at an angle.

Sent it to Tony and have done it with every mask since.

But... isn't it supposed to be 'part' of the mask and not just sway front to back?  Part of the reason I never bought the Adam's single button guard

Mizuno frame stripped and powder coated flat black, mizuno catcher pads, mizuno harness and mizuno shovel. Mizuno all around! FYI, if you strip the vinyl off a steel mask, it makes it significantly lighter. I stripped this one and a dyna lite and they’re gonna be my two gamers this year

Yes and no. The issue with the Adams/Diamond one is WHERE it hangs. Don't forget, originally masks never have the extention.

Did the black not wear well, or you just wanted the different color? I'm strongly considering getting the black, but don't want to have to powdercoat it after a year.  (Plus I'm dreaming of All-Star making a Deflexion-based mask - I really wanted to go with their new HSM, but decided to stick with masks, but I love their Deflexion tech.)
