SEC Jacket Stripes ?!?

Ok, so my buddy called me and said, ....  "I swear I saw the Alabama / Arkansas game last night on ESPNU and the crew was rocking jackets w/ yellow shoulder stripes and numbers, ...a patch too...."

 

I said, "no way" ...............well...............I was wrong ......

I watched that game.  It was as ugly in motion on TV as in pictures.  I realize the SEC logo is predominately yellow, but MERCY those things are ugly and borderline distracting!

Isaw it but, I dismissed it as "poor picture quality" or my eyes were going goofy that was making the stripes appear yellow.  I am canceling my calls to the cable company and my optomitrist.  Thanks Jeff.

Say what you will.....but that jacket is more of an accomplishment than it is fashionable. The SEC is the "major leagues" of college baseball, and one of the toughest conference to umpire in. Some say it is the "gold standard" of college umpiring....that might explain the gold stripes. That jacket is not cheap either. It's about $110 fully embroidered.

Hopefully one day I will wear that jacket.

...and, after they tell me how much per game I'm getting, I smile... nod.. and say, "That's one helluva nice jacket!"  IMHO, I think they're pretty cool even though they took some getting used to. I hope to take a little road trip and see them for real  when Florida comes up to play Mizzou.

I agree. I would wear/buy whatever they told me to and wear it proudly if I was lucky/good enough to be in such a position.
