I can tell you these are very comfy, they shine up nice and they aren't very hard to clean. As for the whole I don't like all the white. Well that's your own personal choice they come in all black, or you can take some goof off and polish and make them more black and just leave the white you want. More pics to come for those interested. But I love these shoes!

Where did you purchase them from?

I wanna know as well!

I would get them if the Zig sole was black and the white logo was just on the shoe. I'll get the all black instead.

I have to agree here. TOO MUCH WHITE for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I like white on shoes, but ...that's a lot ....

I think ZM has the right thought here, so you get the black, and modify the white striped logo only ..........I photo shopped it in an earlier post in this thread

official word from Reebok is that the Corporate Warehouse is completely out of stock on both models of Zig plates. They were not prepared for the overwhelming response and subsequent sales due to the popularity of these shoes. No idea when a restock is expected.

Ok for the ones who are wondering, these came direct from the Reebok factory not from a retailer. I know a few websites have started to show the shoes and my contact tells me that they will be shipping out in the next weekish. So you will all have your opportunities soon. I asked my contact about other sizes i.e. wide widths and other designs like an all black mid. He told me that reebok is looking at several options to become available before season starts. Also they are looking at doing the zig in charcoal grey as well. I know its not blacked out like some of you wanted but that is the info that I have. As noted before I will post more pics later on this weekend. I wore them in the rain yesterday and they cleaned up great. The added traction and flexibility of this shoe is amazing. I hope this helps

WOW, that's cool info! A charcoal grey zig sole would look good!

What would look even better is keeping the zig black, the logo white, and the plate between the leather and the zig in charcoal!

A little bit of Pink would also be great! :fuel:

Black or charcoal gray zig would be great. I didn't buy the zig base shoes because of the all the white on them. I'd venture to guess with the white zig, white logo, and white name on the front and back...the shoe's very close to 50% white.

I'll buy whatever I can get my hands on. Prefer solid black, but...

This note on Honig's product descriptions is interesting:

Available in sizes 8-12, 13, 14, 15. Limited supply. specially priced at $109.95. No further discounts apply.

Looks like they are trying to one "up" Ump-Attire. Honig's prices have always been higher for items sold elsewhere.

i've said it once and i'll say it again, i like the white on em, looks professional, and don't EVER USE SCUBBING BUBBLES OR MEAN GREEN ON YOUR SHOES!!! It eats at the stitching and they will fall apart. Just use some degreasing agent such as purple power mixed in a very very weak solution with water, it may take a couple minutes longer to clean but you will save money in the long run only buying shoes once a couple of years.

100% disagree. I used scrubbing bubbles on my shoes for years. And when I retired them after their 3rd season, they looked as good as my new ones. The instep and arch support was gone, but the shoes looked great. I now use murphy's and H2O mix for the shine it gives them. But I wouldn't hesitate to use Scrubbing Bubbles.

I used scrubbing bubbles on my field magistrates and 450's for one season, granted i religiously cleaned them after every game, and by mid season my sole started coming off of my 450s and shortly after the field magistrates started to separate from the sole. I won't ever use scrubbing bubbles or mean green on my shoes again. The purple power seems to do just as good of a job especially if you let them sit for a minute or two after you spray and wipe them down then go back over with plain water to wash the residue away. I started using purple power once a week on both pairs of shoes and use plain water before every game to clean the dust off. Also after every purple power clean i polish my shoes with parade gloss kiwi. And man do they look sharp on monday mornings :D

I wish Reebok would come out with something other than a narrow last for their shoes. Basketball officials rave about the zigs and I can't wear them. Oh well, at least my New Balance 460s and Adidas Turf Hogs are comfortable.

I've used for the last four years Armor All tire shine foam. Because tires are made of rubber just like the soles of our shoes. Wash your shoes off with your hose if dirt or clay are caked on or don't if they're just dusty and apply. It works great. Especially getting red clay back to white again. I've heard some complaints that it attracts dirt but let's face it, after an inning or two your shoes are more than likely dirty anyway no matter what you're using.

Your missing out my brother, those basketball patent leather kicks are nice. :)

I shared my initial thoughts on the Reebok Zig Plate Shoes in comparing them to New Balance with my staff:

http://www.ump-attir...IRE-PLATE-SHOES

Thought I'd share my email with you:

If my foot were narrower, I would really like these shoes. They fit my in-between a D and 2E 11.5 foot well in the heel but just too narrow for my wide instep. Going up to a size 12 did not help. So if we have customers with wide feet, New Balance is likely going to be the only option in my opinion. I'd like to get your opinion.

There are three things I like most about the Zig Plates. One is that it is a close to a tennis shoe than I've seen in a plate shoe. If you cut the top cover plate off, you'd be left with a RZIG Magistrate base shoe except for a hard toe at the end. So if the top cover were on by velcro, you'd easily have close-to a convertible plate/base shoe.

Another is the weight. Comparing an 11.5 NB, the 11.5 Reebok in mid-cut is 1 pound 4 ounces. The NB although lighter than the older NB model is 1 pound and 10 ounces. That's a 20% difference.

The last is the Zig sole, but not for the reasons you'd think. If I bend at the knees as in a typical plate stance, the taller sole on the Reebok puts me more forward with less effort than the New Balance that isn't quite as tall in the heel.

So all in all, if your foot will fit in a Reebok shoe and the white on 2 of the 3 models is not a turn-off I would certainly think some people are going to REALLY like this shoe. I also found it much easier to slip into than the NB BTW.

The downsides besides the wide widths and lack of all-black options is that the shoe is not as well balanced as the New Balance. Just like the older style of Reeboks, it's top heavy. I think the way the shoe is made makes this understandable. It's more like a tennis shoe in the back and this doesn't balance out the armor in the front like NB's sturdier construction back there does.

I encourage you to try these on next to a New Balance shoe and share your thoughts as well so we can all learn more about the pluses and minuses to share with customers.

Honigs has the Zigs but no WIDE sizes! :tantrum::shakehead:

I don't see them on Ump-attire yet but hopefully soon and WIDE sizes.

JaxRolo, if they came in wide from Reebok we'd have them. As I understand it, the Zig technology is not available in wides for any of their styles, umpiring or otherwise.
