Honigs has the Zigs but no WIDE sizes! :tantrum::shakehead:

I don't see them on Ump-attire yet but hopefully soon and WIDE sizes.

JaxRolo, if they came in wide from Reebok we'd have them. As I understand it, the Zig technology is not available in wides for any of their styles, umpiring or otherwise.

i've said it once and i'll say it again, i like the white on em, looks professional, and don't EVER USE SCUBBING BUBBLES OR MEAN GREEN ON YOUR SHOES!!! It eats at the stitching and they will fall apart. Just use some degreasing agent such as purple power mixed in a very very weak solution with water, it may take a couple minutes longer to clean but you will save money in the long run only buying shoes once a couple of years.

100% disagree. I used scrubbing bubbles on my shoes for years. And when I retired them after their 3rd season, they looked as good as my new ones. The instep and arch support was gone, but the shoes looked great. I now use murphy's and H2O mix for the shine it gives them. But I wouldn't hesitate to use Scrubbing Bubbles.

I used scrubbing bubbles on my field magistrates and 450's for one season, granted i religiously cleaned them after every game, and by mid season my sole started coming off of my 450s and shortly after the field magistrates started to separate from the sole. I won't ever use scrubbing bubbles or mean green on my shoes again. The purple power seems to do just as good of a job especially if you let them sit for a minute or two after you spray and wipe them down then go back over with plain water to wash the residue away. I started using purple power once a week on both pairs of shoes and use plain water before every game to clean the dust off. Also after every purple power clean i polish my shoes with parade gloss kiwi. And man do they look sharp on monday mornings :D

No one said to use Scrubbing Bubbles "EVERY time" you clean your shoes .........

Yeah, I don't think we're advocating breaking down the glue on the shoes. Often times a spray bottle of water and wash cloth takes care of most of my dirty shoe issues.

Right, ...

Scrubbing Bubbles has never been a part of a cleaning 'routine' unless your shoes are really dirty, or muddy ....

Typically, a nice spritz of Water and Murphy's will suffice nicely!

In my email this morning from U-A:

The first of its kind, the Reebok's Zig technology is now available for umpire plate shoes. They are 20% lighter and have a slightly higher heel providing less stress on your legs while in your stance.

With low-cuts you have an option of an all-black or black with white option. Mid-cuts are available in black with white. Sorry, but Reebok Zig plate shoes are only available in D width.

Through December, as an e-mail subscriber receive an introductory offer of $10 off Zig Plate Shoes. Use code ZIG10DEC at checkout. (One pair per customer/can not be used with other discounts).

Mid-Cut Black/White Your Price: $114.99 Low-Cut - Black/White Your Price: $109.99 All-Black Low-Cut Your Price: $109.99

Has anyone bought from this website? Is it legit?

Thanks

I have no personal experience, but judging the book strictly by the cover, I would use them. Their site is good and they sell quality mdse at good prices.

Anyone ever worn these reeboks? Look like NBA Ref shoes, but I think I might get a pair.

I have them for Basketball, I like them allot- most guys around here have them too. They are very shinny but I don't know how the bottoms would perform on grass, as they are made with a court in mind and do not look like they would provide allot of traction on grass/dirt.

BTW, That's a good deal on them, I purchased mine at Honig's for $100.

I wish Reebok would come out with something other than a narrow last for their shoes. Basketball officials rave about the zigs and I can't wear them. Oh well, at least my New Balance 460s and Adidas Turf Hogs are comfortable.

Your missing out my brother, those basketball patent leather kicks are nice. :)

Yeah I know. Maybe Reebok ought to make something wider than ballerina slippers.

Reebok made the Magistrates Wide Sizes so why not the Zigs??????????

Reeboks used to be the wider shoe. There's probably no market for making a lot of wides...if there was a market, they'd make them right?

There is a Market. ME!!!

I have lots of different pairs of zigs. I had these for basketball last year and they are the most comfortable pair of zigs I have owned. They are more flexible than the veros that I wear for baseball and football and are alot more comfy than the zigs that I wear as regular shoes. I +1 the thought that they would not work well for baseball and football. You would have no traction.

I recommend Dr. Scholls. They're made for people with weird feet.

This might be my favorite thread on here. It starts off with everyone ripping the Zigs, and then over the course of a few pages it turns into everybody wanting a pair. I'm sure there's a psychology study hidden somewhere in here that I'll leave up to men smarter than me to find.

Same as the Chevy Avalanche. When they first came out it was a new look that everybody hated.

It quickly evolved.

negative. I HATE the avalanche.
