  4. I have a few pair of these available. Brand new, never worn. Got lucky and stumbled onto a good deal. Message me and I’ll let you know if I have your size available. $120/pair and $15 for shipping. All black and white/black available. First come first served.
  5. Just placed an order for the New Balance MU460 plate shoes. I thought sure that I could squeeze another season out of the original NB 450s, but it's just not possible, as my toes are still swollen 24 hours later from yesterday's game. As information, I ordered from www.ump-attire.com and I will be happy to report back with my review, both here and at Ump-Attire. Looking forward to some comfort !
  6. I used these for just one game this year. They are in 'as new' condition. Size: 10.5 D width Price: $125, includes shipping in the original box. Regular retail price is $149.
  7. For Sale: New Balance 450; Size 10 D; well cared for over the years. I had two pair of these, and rotated them during the seasons. This pair had some stitching give way on the toe caps. The right shoe resulted in a small tear in the leather (see pics) but the stitching and tear have been repaired professionally on both shoes. Asking $50 + $10 for shipping (expected cost there is about $14). Will ship to anywhere in 48 states USA. These would make a good first plate shoe for someone, or a backup pair to wear on wet days when you don't want to mess up your new ones. Thanks for looking.
  8. They're he-e-e-re ! I needn't have worried about whether they'd fit well. I couldn't ask for a better fit. These will make a very nice backup pair of plate shoes. Or who knows - some days they will be primary. Thanks @Thunderheads. Oh - the title... that was just click bait. But these are "new" to me, since I've been wearing NB shoes for the past 10+ years.

  10. The official on-field shoe for MLB umpires for the 2017 season, the MU460v3 New Balance Umpire Plate Shoes are designed for that extra look of authority with its hi-gloss finish that is easy to clean while maintaining the comfort, breathability and traction you expect in an on-field athletic shoe. The redesigned floating instep guard provides advanced features. First, it provides maximum protection where you need it most, on the inside of your feet, without the extra bulk on the outside where you don't. Second, it "releases" from the top making it easier to take on and off and to lace your shoelaces. Third, there is a mesh strap that creates space between your shoe and guard for air to flow. This mid-cut style is all-black with MLB logo on the tongue and heel and with NB logo on sole. FEATURES Dispersion Instep Guard provides more inner foot protection ABZORB® - a blend of Dupont™ Engage® and Isoprene rubber - in heel and forefoot provides superior shock absorption and cushioning throughout the game Strategically placed mesh strap on inside of metatarsal guard that promotes air flow and breathability Guard releases for easy on/off Mid-cut provides greater ankle support Hi-gloss is easy to clean / polishable Snug-fit integrated neoprene sock liner provides additional comfort between foot and hard toe Nubby outsole for enhanced traction 23.1 ounces The official plate shoes for MLB umpires For baseball or softball
  11. Hello all - A fellow teacher is wanting to umpire for the first time this year. Since everyone in this community is amazing, I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone has some extra equipment lying around to help get him started. Here's a list of other things we're looking for (preferably at a cheap price and in good condition): Mask (just a basic Dyna-Lite if available) Chest protector (XL or 13 inch) Plate shoes (Size 13 2E would be ideal, but 13 D will work, too) Thanks! 15. Hey guys, I, like many of you, wear the New Balance plate shoes, but I seem to be having a problem with them and I wanted to know if any of you have experienced something similar. Last year I bought a brand new pair of shoes from Ump-Attire and I fell in love with them. Then after only 20 or so plate games the material that keeps the plate for the top of the foot connected to the rest of the shoe ripped up so the plate was flopping all over the place. I tried a few things to fix them, but they always ended up flopping around during a game (a bad look even if no one really noticed). I gave up and bought another pair and they worked great for the rest of the season. Flash forward to now and that pair of shoes has been through quite a bit of games over the past season and a half, but again, last night the material broke and I'm left with a flopping plate. I haven't beat up the shoes in any way besides wearing them and I haven't taken a ball to the foot in I can't remember how long. All I know is that every time they break it seems I'm working solo and having to run around a bit more than usual. Any ideas or should I just buy new shoes? I haven't seen Reebok shoes around (did they stop making plate shoes?) and I have a pair of 3N2's that I don't trust above little league. Thanks in advance, Stephen

  20. I've had NB 450 (i guess) for the last 3 or 4 years...probably 350+ games...I love them but starting last season and then really escalating this season, the cushion around the top of the shoe (where I would grab and tug it onto my foot) became exposed and deteriorated, which caused the lining to come away and slip down..i took them to a shoemaker who replaced the cushion, but it's not ideal and clearly time for a new pair. Has anyone else had this problem (it seems like a little boot strap on the bag would solve it)? Does 350 games sound like a normal lifespan? And, does anyone endorse anything other than the new NB's? Thanks
  21. Purchased the NBs last year half a size larger than my normal size, and they ended up feeling...half a size too large. 'magin that. Very good condition, no catcher cleat marks! Also selling/trading my backup Wilson mask, in like-new condition. Not exactly sure the type of mask it is, though it seems curved a little less than my All-Star masks. Looking for cash, size 34 or 36 GD pants, or Team Wendy pads (maybe you stocked extra during the December sale!). Would also consider used Navy shirts and ball bags for our association's incoming rookies if the items are combined with one of the big 3 above.
  22. Nice price and he has quite a few sizes http://www.ebay.com/itm/350756747420
  23. How do you get dressed for a plate job? Post the order you get dressed in and any superstitions you may have as far as getting dressed (I.E. left/right shoe first) 1.) Compression shorts 2.) Nutty Buddy 3.) Under armor Jock (The one that comes with the nutty buddy I don't like as much as my under armor jock) 4.) Compression Tights (Runners Leggings, whatever you want to call them) 5.) COTTON black crew length socks (Cotton gives better grip to the ankle straps on shin guards to keep them from spinning) 6.) Honigs Poly Wool Plate Pants (Pants unzipped with inner retainer button fastened, outside fasteners undone until shirt is on) 7.) Reebok Field Magistrate Mid Cut Plate Shoes 8.) Boston Patent Leather Belt (leaving belt unbuckled until uniform shirt and chest protector are on) with Honigs Ball Bags (Left and Right Ball Bag) 9.) Honigs k2010-17 shin guards over the tongue of the plate shoes and obviously under my plate pants, ankle plates removed (And if you must know, I put my left shin guard on first, superstitious) 10.) Undershirt (Color of undershirt depending on color of uniform shirt i am wearing that day obviously) 11.) Wilson Gold Chest Protector/ Wilson Platinum Chest protector depending on my mood for the day (Both With Delta Flex Harness and "Peck Pads" removed on the gold) 12.) Uniform shirt 13.) Zip and fasten pants 14.) Buckle Belt 15.) Put plate brush in back right pocket (of my pants, can't stand digging in ball bags for anything but baseballs) 16.) Indicator in Front Left Pocket 17.) Pen in front right pocket (I've kept them in shirt pockets before, a couple foul balls and ruined shirts later I've learned to keep it in my pants pocket) 18.) Walk to field with Wilson Shock FX Titanium in left hand.
