  8. I have a Wilson shock fx 2.0 titanium for sale. Looking for 100 plus shipping, that's negotiable. Some normal wear from carrying the mask, has probably 70 plus or minus games on it. Pm me for pictures as this will not let me upload the pictures from my phone. Comes with original storage bag. I would suggest changing the chin and forehead pads as I have not changed them since purchasing the mask. Only reason I'm getting rid of it is I went back to using the traditional mask. not particularly interested in trading but you may have something that I would really like, cash is preferable though. Make me offers on the trades
  9. Well, there's one way to ensure @mstaylor never works games in CT! FWIW, in the Orange County HS unit, the uniform requirements are: Quite right, I wouldn't be caught dead on a field with GD pants on. What's the matter with GD pants, other than they really don't match poly wools. They are ugly as sin, look like you are wearing pajama pants because they don't hold a press worth a darn, through the pleats or through the leg. Almost look like balloon pants unless you iron right before the game, where as with poly wools you don't have to iron your pants, just hang dry them after you wash them.
  10. Has anyone had their yearly rules meeting yet? I would love some clarification on 2-21-4 and the penalty imposed for such, under OBR this is considered to be "backswing interference" and no out would be called, the way I am reading this rule they are wanting the batter to be called out when the backswing hits the catcher and it interferes with the catcher making a play, I haven't worked in a year or so, this may not be a new rule, I would just like a little clarification here...
  11. I have a shock fx titanium hsm for sale. PM me if you're interested, the mask is currently at my parents so I don't have any pictures of it, I can say I used it for about 50 or so games, the paint is in good condition, a little wear where I carry it on the left side of the frame as you wear it. Other than that I would say it is in great shape. Give me an offer on it. If you must have pictures i could probably arrange that. Comes with the storage bag as it has always been stored in the storage bag.
  12. Milb guys are wearing the honigs poly wools not the ua polys. The Honigs are made by hardwicks. And my opinion on Gerry Davis pants are similar to many of the other umpires opinion of them on here. I don't like the color or the feel of them. The color is way too light for being "charcoal"
  13. More or less what this rule is doing is making it illegal to use a light gray or white colored glove by any fielder. Thus making our job easier for catch no catch etc. more or less if you think that the glove may be about the same color as the baseball and it would be difficult for you to discern the difference between the glove and baseball from a reasonable distance I would say to the fielder that he needs to change his glove. This is rarely a problem because most gloves are mostly brown or black in color.
  14. I agree with everyone else as far as warning/ ignoring the first comment and then ejecting/warning (depending on what you did with the first comment) on the second comment. As far as meeting the manager halfway, my opinion is to meet the manager somewhere between his position and your position, but don't jog, just walk casually. When you jog it looks like you may be looking for a confrontation. But meeting managers halfway when you see them calmly coming out of the dugout to ask a question or even argue is perfectly acceptable, in fact I encourage it because it gives a sense of approachability to you and this gives you somewhere to go when you walk away after the argument has gone too long (rather than walking aimlessly looking like you are running away from the confrontation). However, if you see a manager sprinting/ jogging out of the dugout this is not a situation where you should meet them halfway, they have already showed you that this is going to be a somewhat heated confrontation and approaching them may result in contact that the manager could say you initiated by you walking towards them. This all, as you can see, totally depends on the situation.
  15. What I would suggest if you encounter a comment that's over the line, something intended to troll or incite, flag it just as you would on U-E or any other forum. When hovering over the offending comment, you'll see a down-oriented triangle on the top right of the comment, click the triangle and select the "flag as inappropriate" button. Obviously don't go overboard as your posting IP address will lose "credibility" with the commenting system, but the option is there if you need to use it. sounds like a good plan to me. probably still wont use the flag option unless it gets WAY too bad... kind of like spectators that have no idea what they are talking about but still insist they know how to do your job better than you do...
  16. I still get chills when I watch this preview... let alone the whole special... i love it
  17. i cut mine off my gold, haven't decided what to do with the platinum yet... honestly the "wings" don't protect much... at least on the gold they dont... mine still covers everything that needs to be covered... I've only worn my platinum once because of the wings... when i get the retrofit done this winter I may ask tw to trip down the wings or eliminate them altogether... haven't decided yet thus the reason why I haven't sent mine in yet... I wear my gold every plate job and love it... may end up selling the platinum like I said not sure what to do with it yet...
  18. gil, i've gotta say i really like being able to "anonymously" post on your website, mainly because if people knew who I was posting on there i would probably be told to stop commenting on the site. But I wish there was a way to get rid of the trolls that have no idea about the rules of the game and still keep the all important anonymity for users who need it like myself...
  19. those commentators are brutal and some of the comments on your site, gil, are absolutely horrendous; honestly I've stopped looking at the comments expecting educated comments anymore, they are more for comic relief and to find out there are actually people out there dumber than I...
  20. if the kick is unintentional the award would be 2 bases time of the pitch, if the kick is intentional the award is 2 bases time of kick. Same as if a bounding ball deflects off of a fielders glove into DBT.
