I am considering buying this CP.

It comes in 12" and 15"

For those of you that own one or have tried one what size do you recommend?

I am 5'8" 200# (I know I need to lose weight)

Thanks!

Thanks guys!

That was my inclination since my Gold is 12" and I felt it was enough.

I have a 12" All Star and it is very similar in length to my M/L Gold and my 13" Douglas. I think that the 15" might be too long and will not be comfortable. As someone else described on another post the All Star hangs over your shoulders. If some one has a larger mid section this may create some comfort issues.

Definately 12 Rolando, especially if you feel the Gold is enough. Remember, the sides of the All Star rig drop a bit to cover that lower last rib! :)

Thunder...let me make sure on the 12"...it measures 12" in the sternum and 13" on the side...correct.

NWA,

Correct, ...

12" neck to bottom, then on the sides it drops and measures 13". When you see the picture of the rig, you'll understand ;)

Oh I've seen it...thought I read a couple places where it's 11 in the cnter and 12 on the sides...the 15 is 15 in the center and 16 on the side...just wanted to make sure.

I will be going with the 12. Just wanted to confirm.

Speaking of the All-Star CP....

I have a few days break before the next game and mine is starting to smell a little....gamey.

Anyone washed theirs yet? I am thinking just throw the pads in with the plate clothes on cold/gentle cycle and then same with the dryer- tumble dry/low heat like I do with the unis.

Anyone have a better or brighter idea?

Ump-attire now offers replacement padding for the cp.... An extra set can be very helpful for changing out the padding to wash. This will allow you to let the padding air dry after washing per manufacturers instructions.

I wash mine Allstar pads as you describe, but let them air dry.

Same here. I also try to dry it outside in the fresh air after each use.

I have yet to purchase replacement CP pads, but I have two sets for my all-star HSM that I rotate when I wash so that I can make sure they are totally dry before I use them again.

Im a hair under 6' and 250 which size should I get? Is the sizing the same for a West Vest.

I'm 5-11 and 225+ .....I prefer the 15 ......... the 12 doesn't cover my lower ribs .........
