Who leads off?

Scenario: Top 2nd inning, Runners on 1st(B4) and 3rd(B1), 2 outs(B2&B3). Batter 5 count 3-2, walks on a wild pitch (pitch is a ball). While proceeding to 1st base, batter 1 on third base attempts to steal home on the wild pitch and is out at home. The out occurs before batter 5 touches 1st base. 3rd out. Head to the bottom of the 2nd. Question is: Who leads off the Top of the 3rd inning? Batter 5 (because they didn’t make it to 1st on the walk) or batter 6. Using GameChanger as my book, it tells me batter 6 is the leadoff batter. The opposing book keeper sends batter 5 to the plate. We don’t notice this and batter 5 gets on with an error to our pitcher. Batter 6 runs to the plate and as we notice this isn’t the correct batter, our frustrated pitcher delivers a pitch. No Batted out of Order can be called because of it, but I’m curious who should have led off?

(2) The batting order shall be followed throughout the game

be the player whose name follows that of the last player
who legally completed his time at bat in the preceding

The same would apply if it was a dropped third strike.  As soon as ball four or strike three happens - whether caught or not - he's no longer a batter.

The very / immediate / exact moment the pitch is “called” Ball 4, the Batter becomes a Runner (the Batter-Runner, or BR). Conjunctively, the Batter’s time at-bat has ended. 

Whether or not, or when BR reaches 1B is of no consequence or affect upon the pitch that changed his status from Batter to BR, and ended his time at bat; the pitch being either Ball 4 or Strike 3 (for simplicity, I’m not getting into batted balls or Batter’s Interference (BI) calls) did that. 

Thus, if this was Edwards (B5=E), then Fitzgerald (B6=F) should have been up to bat (led off) the next inning. 

GameChanger should have scored/recorded it as “BB” (Walk) and Arroyo (B1/R3) CS. GameChanger wasn’t deficient, it was the other team’s deficiency, compounded by the (your) pitcher’s frenetic pitching and play. 🤨

Your inference is incorrect. Batter 6 is (also) batting out of order, and the umpire should rectify the error (without penalty to the offense, due to the timing of the notification).

Isn't B6 now proper due to a pitch making B5's at bat legal? What's to rectify?

That's the way it works in LL 6.07(c).

I was also searching the rule book for this as well. We were up by a ton, so I didn’t press the issue.
