Not Gil, but here's one plot. You're talking about pitch #5 (umpire's perspective):

numlocation.php-pitchSel=608379&game=gid

again ......strike all day for us ........ and either way at the MLB level, someone would be mad, but ...I think more mad that it was a ball? (maybe)?

I think a few years ago this would have been an MLB strike too. When you get technology involved this is how strikes will be called.

The machine agrees, what is Matheny arguing, if its that close I want it to be a strike?

Given the diameter of a baseball, would #5 be wrong if it was ruled a strike ? or does the box account for that ?

Molina pulled the pitch a bit...why did he feel the need to "frame" #5 if he was so sure it was a strike...why not just stick it. His argument is disingenuous.

I'm not an expert lip reader, but it looks as though Matheny is saying over and over "You missed that pitch".

The plot takes that into account. By definition the call was correct.

What else can we learn from this?  For starters, I'd say keep your eye on what's going one and put off going nose to nose with the catcher until play has stopped.

Too bad nobody threw a screamer to Molina while he was busy whining with his back turned. THAT would have been something to complain about.
