Your browser does not support iframes. If F7 flipped the ball to F8 and F8 drops it, would it still be a catch? Obviously doesn't apply in this situation because he caught it but I thought it'd be a good discussion http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v497849583/milchc-schwarber-lays-out-to-rob-extra-bases

Subtle move, but TR saw it and it scores a run. what I don't understand is, why look at the pitcher after awarding R3 home? http://m.mlb.com/video/v1120742283/?query=balk

http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/mp4/2016/05/23/728184883/1463971838943/asset_2500K.mp4 Pretty close, but I think he got it right. He was running in fair territory then went all the way to the other side of the runner's lane, which would be more than 3 feet.

http://m.cubs.mlb.com/chc/video/v728184883/chcsf-maddon-cubs-dispute-out-call-at-first-base/?game_pk=447519 Saw this replay and thought it was pretty clear cut that he was out of the base path. Seeing some argument that his whole body did not leave the 3 foot path to avoid the tag, any support for that interpretation?

Maybe this is ironic only in the way the Alanis song used irony.... But it IS interesting that on the very "Back to the Future" day that every media outlet has been going on and on about, the Cubs - World Series winners in the movie - were eliminated from the playoffs, a round early. (Closest they've been for a while, but still.) And it's adorable how the World Series champs were supposedly still being decided in October.....

https://vine.co/v/epV1zL1wBTP hmm seems like this could have been called for a 2 base award for throwing glove at thrown ball

Joe Maddon was just ejected after his F1 threw to F3 as he was retreating back to the back (he was playing in for the bunt) and a balk was called. Will update with video when it's up.

Your browser does not support iframes. Agree with call here? There was a lot of confusion on my twitter feed as to why R2 isn't out for passing R3

Let's face it, this is just a bad look. The catcher had to physically hold back the umpire. No matter what was said, it's bad optics. Reverse the roles - would a player be fined/suspended for trying push thru an umpire like this? Should it be any different in this case? Your browser does not support iframes. And, as usual, pretty fair and substantive commentary from Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies. Can you imagine the hysterics if it was that clown Hawk Harrelson?

I'm thinking that this was an optical illusion type thing.....as in the angle in which he saw the play? Not sure.... Your browser does not support iframes.

Your browser does not support iframes. Your browser does not support iframes. should this be one of those plays where the umpire rules safe, then out on an appeal? The last angle shows that Bryant beat the pitcher to the bag (just stepped off to the side to avoid stepping on him) I'm not too familiar with this type of play.
