Apparently Mike (MSTaylor) left to be with God earlier today.....

It's posted on his Facebook page.

God Bless the entire Taylor family!

Afraid not.  Sounds like he had another heart attack that he didn't recover from.  His FB page is filled with condolences.

For someone I've never met in person, I'm feeling a huge amount of loss right now.

I feel like I've been hit by a bus.  May the Lord welcome you into His arms, Mike.  My prayers to his family.

That's a great way to describe how I'm feeling.

Same here. I've talked with him on various forums for over 10 years now. Really good guy.

Take care, Mike. And thanks.

Maven that's the one I see. What am I missing????

That's the one I see and there's no mention of it either, but they probably have the settings on Facebook to where people who are friends with him see posts the general public can't.

I think you have to be his FB friend to see all the posts.

This is very sad news. I hadn't met him either and I too feel a loss.

Condolences to his family, and friends, including y'all.

Very Sad. Mike's posts and insights were some of the most thoughtful I've ever read on any forum. He always expressed himself with class and dignity. Although I never met him, I know the world has lost a good one, and there is great sadness in my heart.

Rest in Peace, and my thoughts and prayers are out to him and his family.

Like Rich and others, I'm speechless. Mike was a great guy and I'm going to miss him.

Does anyone know what baseball organization(s) he worked through?

RIP Mike. Condolences to his family and friends. I've learned a lot from him and I'm a better person and umpire because of him.

I met Mike a couple of times. I go to his area to play golf every year. He took me to one of the fields he supervised and we watched an adult league and then the next year we went to an A game in Salisbury.

Mike was a great guy to talk baseball and umpiring.

I know I will miss him greatly.
