What delay on the call?? I didn't see the whole game and what Holbrook's timing was like but the Strike 3 to Rasmus looked pretty normal....

"IF" he legally disengaged, then he is considered a fielder and can do whatever a fielder can do.... Yes, he can fake a throw to first then.

Not talking about you Rich.... There is alot of talking on the forums about the LLWS umpires.... Obviously, its not all.

I haven't seen what your taking about, however if it's anything like regular LLWS umpires, many of them have ALOT to be desired!!

Hello all, Took a break from UE for a while.... Not umpiring nearly as many games as years past.... (I pretty much quit doing the all day weekend tourneys.) Lots of Jr High school ball has just started here and Fall Ball begins next month. Looking forward to catching up on everything here and getting back into the forums.

But I guarantee the Coaches sure as heck will remember!!!

Mine is one of those soft sided coolers..... I hang it on the shady side of the backstop with carabineers about waist high. Pretty much what everyone else does around here and it has never been an issue.

I've got to disagree with you on this one..... Come to AZ, EVERYONE brings their coolers on the field with them..... If you don't, you'll go down by the 3rd inning!

I always try to communicate with my partner (whether I am PU or BU) any sun/visibility issues I am having before it becomes an issue and we try to cover for each other.

SJA, I just think he needs to appear that he's "in the game" a bit more..... Yesterday, on a close play at 1B, Joe barely lifted his arms above his waist and just sort of flipped his wrists outward to indicate safe. To the average fan, it could appear that the umpire could care less....

<br />I disagree with this, I don't care how many years you have in the league, when there is a call to sell, you freaking sell it! :-) that's my two cents Jeff, I didn't say I agree with him..... Joe just does what he wants, I'm sure, because of his years in the league. Honestly, I think it looks lazy..... Like he could care less.

He is very nonchalant with his mechanics...... Doesn't "sell" any calls. I guess with all his years of experience he doesn't have to!

HS "showcase" fall tourney..... As the catcher is warming up the pitcher for the start of the game, he's pulling on the neck area of his chest protector and tells me "I hate wearing someone else's gear". I ask him "Where's your gear?" He tells me "I don't catch." He goes on to tell me that he's recovered from ACL surgery and hasn't caught in a few years.... Thankfully, I didn't get hit too hard.
