Which one of you is the first to Umpire a game this year?

Unfortunately because of my foot I wont umpire until Feb 4th

Well let's see... we're getting 16 inches of snow between today and tomorrow so I'm going to say April.

march 15?

You have me beat. HS season starts March 21st here, so I'll have a game either that day or the next Monday.

The amount of snow we've gotten already this winter and the forecast in the almanac, we will be lucky if we see the field in March at all. Usually we start around last week of March. Last year my first game was April 2nd, 35 degrees at game time (12:00 game). Must be nice to have baseball weather all year.

First scheduled date is March 1st which is opening day for JuCo and NAIA. HS starts end of March I think but will know more later.

My local summer season re-starts after the Xmas break on 2nd February with the 15th round. Its usually the last weekend in January that we come back, but this year Australia Day (26th Jan) happens to fall on the Sunday just before that.

Our winter season will be either the last weekend of March - a week after the MLB Opening Series here - or the first weekend of April.

As of now, first game is scheduled for Feb. 23. But with the unpredictable St. Louis weather, it could either be 30 or 65 degrees that day, so who knows?

Hopefully mid March. Don't worry about how much snow is on the ground. We all know 2-3 days in the 60's and it's all gone. It's those mid March nor easters we have to worry about. March '12 around here was 60-70 most of the month. Last year was rainy, snowy and cold all month. So who knows?

If I was not going out of town this weekend, I would have games on Saturday....

It never ends here!

Chandler Ariz. #1 destination on my retirement wish list.

If I had my choice, I would take San Diego. Just as warm and sunny... but not 100+ degrees for 80% of the year warm and sunny.

I 2nd San Diego as a good place to retire. Somewhere  up in the North County. The only drawbacks being the high taxes and crowds.

My first scheduled game on Arbiter is a two game D2 series on Feb 1. I'll probably work a scrimmage or two before that.

As I sit watching the snow come down (it started about midnight and is still coming faster than I can shovel), I admire you  guys who umpire year round or almost year round. My first games will not be until late May or early June.
