Here is my west vest gold retrofitted with team wendy pads.

holy s#!t this thing is thin and low profile! This weekend I had the chance to see the unequal chest protector up close. I would say that my west vest is as thick as an unequal + the plastic plates! The padding is about 3/4 of an inch thick. Here are a few pics...

It doesn't feel any heavier than with the orginal padding. The padding is stiffer than the old but just as flexible. As stated before, it is now 50% lower profile. I hate to say it but this is lower profile than my Douglas.

What I think I like most about the TW deal is that the padding is more than wide enough for the plates ...meaning a little extra! :D

It's going to wrap around you better. More of a "glove" type fit. I'm way excited about this.

yes! It's also going to give you a little bit longer coverage on a 12" or 13" cp!!

Another thing i will add....since the "neck roll" has been removed, the chest protector sits better and higher around the neck. No chance of collar bone issues.

Also the peck pads are simply sewn on to the sides. I have removed mine. Like Jeff said they give you extra material on the sides for a more glove like fit. In the peck area, the extra material covers that area perfectly. So I removed the extra oval pads and it now fits even better than my Douglas!

Just the Delta Flex will make a big difference! But, ....in regards to your question, .... the answer would be yes!

All of this posting about the Team Wendy retrofit is making me wish I had held on to my WV Gold. I sold it because I had not worn it in a year...although I got enough money out of it to almost buy a new one.

I will certainly be doing this with my Douglas after next season. I plan on wearing it and my Unequal most of the time. I wore the UE for a D-3 College game on Saturday. It is very comfortable. I did not take any shots, but I really like the feel and it is not hot at all.
