For some reason, this came across my mind and I can't find it anywhere to confirm.

Did NCAA or the FED disallow 'warrior' face painting with eye black or other substances, I guess, for sportsmanship violations this year?

What I've learned thus far with FED is any eye black is fine so long as it's not obscene.

I thought this was a pretty good summary:

Thanks Beeker.  I knew I had read it and heard it from somewhere.  And, I am probably reading too much into what is not allowed.

Too bad there is not a 'Well, that's stupid' rule we can apply for the whole warrior painting.

I know a youth org a few years back put out a restriction that only a line of black could be used and the warrior stuff was not allowed. And then the tournament moved on to TV and we saw a bunch of players with warrior pattern, so not really sure where the line became blurry.

Now, I just make sure they don't have anything objectionable written in the paint! In fact, think if it like jewelry now... ok unless unsafe.

@834k3rhas the general FED rule.  It turns out, North Carolina went a little farther for their guidance, as I found out last week.  Here, you're allowed one stripe under each eye - that's it.  None of that Ultimate Warrior nonsense.

They disallowed discriminatory messages on the face paint in NFHS, can't remember the rule number, but it should be in the changes section

I say let the kids have fun with it if they want (within the bounds of sportsmanship of course).

I mean, I'll take y'alls opinions under advisement, but I've been told, through my new state and my new personal overlords, that it's a single strip.  So that's what it's gonna be.

"Here's a towel, son - take that [redacted] off."

If they want to put letters/words in that eye-black?  Great.  Just don't be unsportsmanlike or profane, and go to town.  Personally?  I'd spend my time getting warmed up or taking some pitches in the cage before the game, rather than [redacted]ing around trying to be an artist.

Eye black...yeah...who knew? I'm pretty sure I didn't make it to The Show because I didn't wear eye black...how did we ever even take the field without eye black? #Ballplayers

So 50% of our POEs are jewelry and eye black ... 🙄

Glad we are getting the important things out of the way.

And after only 2 seasons with the P/DH rule, not a single mention of it on a test, or POE. I guess they think all these "I only have navy" guys got the rule down pat.
