Interesting exercise, but I think there's a lot lost when trying to animate in 2 dimensions what happens live in 3 dimensions.

6/7, but I think many of these are in the measurement uncertainty, including the one I am marked wrong on.

Probably should be in the slot more and up on the catcher so that you can see the whole plate.

6/7, but I cheated on that one to Schwarber... I recall seeing that ejection.

LL coach today bragged to me that he got 6/7. I asked him when he would be available to get behind the plate. 🙂

so in the real world of anything below 100% is totally unacceptable, and since no one in the world is allowed to make a mistake (the old--if my job allowed that many mistakes i would be fired) in anything without being dismissed whether using or not using analytics, 6 for 7 is only a rounded off 86% which is less than 100% and dismissal time.

Heck, for those willing to allow any human grace at all, below about 94 to 95% is dismissal time. that means that the revolving door of getting dismissed and rehired because there are just no people left, will happen about X amount of times in our career. so enjoy getting hired and fired as an official or anything else for that matter, X amount of times.

Unless??? the acceptable rate for not getting dismissed is lowered. Analytics will not allow it, unless someone changes the analytics formula to allow it.

7/7 but I suspect if umping were really this easy more people would do it...the biggest benefit I had (IMHO) is I'm not in the slot tucked between the batter and catcher...I think this is, by far, the biggest reason umps miss pitches on the outside corner.   It's easy when you're not worried about being in the danger zone and don't have a catcher potentially blocking you.
