FYI, the new Honigs polywools do NOT have the silicone bead in the crease like the old version did. I just got plate and base polywools in January and they don't have it. They also fit tighter in the waist than the old polywools and they are 75% polyester/25% wool now and are machine washable. Honigs has switched suppliers and these pants are not nearly as nice as the older versions. They have switched suppliers on a lot of their stuff (Basketball shirts is the other I've noticed) and the quality has suffered a lot. I used to like Honigs' stuff but I am starting to doubt them.

I haven't ordered off of the Honigs site in years. And this version of their online store is darn near unusable! And if the quality of their polywool pants has declined that much, I do not see myself buying from them in the future. Add to that the closing of my local warehouse.

I wish Ump-Attire still had their polywool pants. Maybe they can start again now that Honigs are not as good.

For the time being. I might have to give the Gerry Davis a try.

For those that have tried the new Gerry Davis pants... How much of a size jump do you recommend? I wear a 42 normally. So maybe a 44?

I think the ideal is go up 2 full sizes and take it in. In your case go up 3, to 50

In the regular GD pants I wear a 40, I wear these in the summer a lot.  I have plenty of room in these.  I ordered a size 40 in the new GD Poly wools and they fit tight in the waist.  I have ordered size 44 in these and will see how they fit.  My thoughts are the same as gnhbua93 on this, order at least 2 sizes up and if a little too big, have them taken up some by a tailor/seamstress.  Once I get mine in I will post how they fit.

That is disappointing to hear but not surprising considering the (lack of) quality of some of their other products lately. Their new run of football shirts that our association bought en masse last year are awful.

Yep. The basketball shirts fit like tarps, the material on the highest-priced version is terrible, and the 3" side panel insert stops at the arm pit and doesn't extend down the sleeve.

I have a basketball shirt from them from about three years ago and it is one of my favorites.

No, they accept any credit card.  Okay, guys, I got my size 44 GD Poly Wools in.  They fit very well!!  Remember I wear a size 40 in the regular GD pants.  I went up two sizes to the 44 for the poly wools and they fit great.  Maybe a little big in the waist but with a shirt or two tucked in, and a belt on, they are comfortable.  Compared them to my Honigs poly wools and they are basically the same color.  Basically looking at it you can't tell any difference in color whatsoever.  I really like the feel and the way they fit!!

The travelers crease is a bead of silicone that is ran down the crease of the pants.  This allows the pants to look sharper and keeps a cleaner/harder crease.  Without the silicone bead this crease that comes from the factory can eventually fade or become the "double crease" if you or your dry cleaner messes up when pressing/ironing.  If you're traveling and your pants are going into your bag rather than a garment bag/hangers in the back of your car its a bigger deal.  Honigs pants have this feature.  BTW this can be done to any pants by a tailor for about $10-12.  But why should I pay for this feature and a double clasp when I can get it in my current pants?  I really hope Gerry does some small tweaks to these pants in the next generations of these pants.

Thanks. I will have to look into getting this done.

I'm hoping to pop in to my local Honigs to see the new pants in person. But more than likely, I will be buying a pair of plate and base GD PW pants.

Now, if only Davis would offer free shipping after a certain amount. (Or if any of you nice ladies and gentlemen have a code for shipping or something for Gerry Davis.)

Their quality has steadily dropped off it seems like every year.  I was recently in the market for a new K17 jacket and ordered one from them and compared it to the K17 jacket I purchased from Honig's in the early 2000s.  The quality difference was drastic and I emailed a note to them saying how disappointed I was.

Any clue who the supplier is they are using for these new PW slacks?

HATE the new Honigs PW base pants. Don't hang very well. Material is stiff and thinner than the old pants. I would send them back if they had not been altered already.
