I guess in slo-mo there's a tiny little front leg movement, but in real speed looks like any other pick-off ....  AJ wasn't happy!  I guess that's his first balk called on him in 16 years?  AJ = DB

I've seen much more movement in the front leg and it not be called. I called this 2 weeks ago, 13u TSB World Series, (except he didn't throw or step off, I just saw the front foot come up and down barely) coach said it was nit picking. Also, I think even if he didn't call the balk, R1 would still be able to reach 2nd on the errant throw. Maybe?

It has to be one movement. In this video he moves the right foot, then left, then turns. It's quick and that's why it gets missed.

I was watching the game when it happened and the broadcasters said a Royals runner was picked off earlier and they thought the Royals may have talked to Davis about it.

First, that's a balk in MLB.  Second, if the broadcasters were right (when does that ever happen? ) about the Royals complaining to Davis earlier...that would explain the reaction of AJ.  From experience, in pro ball players/teams will erupt if they think you were talked into a call by another team (even if you weren't). 

I'm in no way shape or form suggesting that Davis was talked into a call (that's almost laughable), but if the Pirates "thought" he was...that would explain the reaction of AJ.

Did you mean he moves the left foot, then right foot?  That's what I am seeing.
