I agree with the call...don't give R2 too much credit for thinking that well...it just ate him up.

Kudos to the announcer who had the rule right for a change. He sounded like he's actually read a RB.

Correct call on the INT: the ball struck the runner in front of F6 (so the exception to the INT rule is not triggered).

I agree with U2's judgment (apparently confirmed by the crew) that R2's actions were not a "willful and deliberate attempt" to break up a DP. So, correct call there, too.

Correct and very easy call.  (I only watched the first 10 secs or so of the video, so I don't know if there was something more controversial afterwards)

Cardinals skipper came out begging for 2 outs. Nobody said boo about the INT call.

Getting 2 here would be a solid case of picking up the bad end of the stick with both hands.  OTOH, its always fun watching Hurdle get ejected...that might have been entertaining!

Would you get two in FED?

Would I?  No.

Could I?  Yes.

Yeah, I dislike that provision: "...if a double play is possible..." Possible? What, like with MLB middle infielders? Metaphysically possible?

The OBR rule turns on the runner's intent: he must exhibit "willful and deliberate" action to break up a DP in order to get 2 outs. I'm fine with FED being different in that regard, but "possible" is not where it should be.

I simply judge whether it's a "double play ball": in that case, a double play should be likely, not merely possible, and I'm OK getting 2 outs for INT. "Possible" is way too weak to call the BR out.

By OBR rules, I agree with the call, but that is a DP ball all day long.

I wouldn't consider calling BR out an OOO call, where it is allowed (NFHS rules)...especially if it was a good HS varsity defense. R2 screwed up a DP ball... It was a possible DP...screw the team that screwed that up. You shouldn't let the OBR restriction limit your call in a Fed game.
