That first step after the base is a little toward second so that must be what he judged.  It doesn't take much to be an attempt -- but I do think it probably takes more than this.

Hard time seeing that as an attempt past 1B, I saw this on TV last night and all I saw was a little left foot jab step out towards 2B after he touched first, he didn't even turn his shoulders...

Not agreeing or disagreeing with the call, but I do recall other posts on this board about attempts to 2B where there seemed to be a lot less movement/commitment by the runner who was ruled out on the tag, and the consensus of the thread was the out call was justified.  Maybe someone can find one.

I know I'm in the minority, but the fact that he seems to start rounding prior to the base makes it an attempt to me.  I think he though it might get thru.
