Along the same lines as in another thread where this forum rejects the idea of a runner intentionally colliding with a fielder just to make obstruction obvious to the umpire...mostly for safety reasons....
Is it wrong to teach a middle infielder to throw to first base but toward the head of a hard charging R1 trying to break up a DP to get him to veer or slow down ? Here, any increased chance of injury to R1 increases protection to vulnerable infielder trying to turn two.

Teach your infielders to throw it to the first baseman. If they're happens to be a runner in the way, then *shrug*. Don't ever teach an 'intent to injure' concept Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
