Well, y'all will get a chance to see me in action in August...should you so choose.  I have been selected for the American Legion World Series which will have the semi-finals and championship on ESPNU.  (All preliminary games are on ESPN 3.)

I'm sure I will have a lot of feedback from y'all, LOL.

Have you undertaken a more... focused training and dieting regimen? Yoga? Tanning? :D

Esteemed congrats, @lawump! Where is this being held? Some of us might want to attend in person and really heckle you (instead of at the TV).

I think 3/4ths of the town of Cherryville show up at the Cherryville Legion games.  And, they're all nuts, LOL.  And I was sitting in the stands (waiting to umpire the next game) when Cherryville was involved in the brawl at the regionals a few years back.

Okay...I'll throw myself out there again.  If you go to ESPN 3 or the "watch ESPN app" my first ever plate game on ESPN should be archived.  It was Louisiana vs. Connecticut.  I have not been able to watch, yet, as I'm still at the stadium, but it says it is archived.

I felt a little like an NFL official in that we'd be ready to start an inning (F2 had thrown down to second) but we'd have to stand there and wait for the ESPN producer to tell us to "go".  Different than in pro or college where we use(d) a stop watch and then started after a certain period of time had passed...whether or not TV was back.

I'll be on the bases tomorrow at 4 and 7:30.

Not sure if you're in the championship game or which umpire but I just saw an excellent no step balk called by the 1B guy. Lefty started towards home and threw to 1st. (Note: I'm not just saying this because I'm from Louisiana and it favored our guys. )

My son and I saw the replay at the end of the inning but the angle was not the best to pick up the no step.

I say no step while that might not be the right term, I do have him starting towards the plate.

That is different than a no step. I thought I noticed a slight movement toward the plate.

And slight is all it takes...
