he passed out....and witnesses said he was visibly intoxicated......and he was the base umpire....how did he get on the field?....did his partner not notice?....you almost hope that he showed up late and walked on the field after his partner started the game solo, as I can't imagine letting him on field otherwise.....

I agree. There is more to the story!

He probably chugged his Vodka just before game time, so his partner might not have noticed until he passed out.

I know a few Vodka alcoholics, and they seem to follow a regular pattern of abuse.

" He was then tased two times while being arrested."

Great visual for the young players and fans.

Just what we need.

Interesting, he is not listed on the IHSA officials list for any sport.  Either he is not patched or they removed him from the list already.

Is it just me or has there been a lot more bad umpire publicity this year. From the big leagues down.

I wonder if he'll lose his playoff assignments....

Nope, he'll be busy doing other "plate" work...

I wonder if he'll lose his playoff assignments....

He has the dish in the first round of the prison slow pitch softball league. That is cruel and unusual punishment.

Very sad story as it seems many people have problems in their lives and they do not know how to handle their lives. It's a shame what some people have become of themselves with drug and alcohol abuse.

There has to be more to the story. I mean 10 officers and the big guy? Really just for one umpire?  that a tad over the top.... So when and where did the assult happen on the field? I hope he didn't drive....
