I'm considering some full-length leggings to wear while working, and I'm looking for something that won't be excessively warm during those hot summer games. I'd like to hear if you use something like this, what kind of success you've had with it, and what you recommend.

Thanks!

Trying a set of Shock Doctor compression tights this year, so far so good.  They have a cup pocket in them that I tried once or twice with mixed results before I got a Nutty Buddy (which goes over the tights)

I also have a few pair of cheap tights I got at WalMart a couple years ago for like $15 each and they are also going strong.  Only thing I don't like about them is the lack of a thick waistband to help them stay up, which the Shock Doctor has.  Other than that they are good as well.

I wear both in temps up to 100 degrees and to be honest, I won't go without them no matter the temperature.  If anything I think they actually keep me cooler through wicking in the hot weather.

Ump attire carrys umpire specific leggings made by shock doctor. They are like hockey leggings without the Velcro for hockey socks.

I have 2 pair of these, and pair of UA cold gear leggings ............

If you don't like the compression feel...Running pants/tights are a good alternative as well. They are cut close to the leg with material similar to tights...but not compression. You can find some of these at TJ's or Marshalls pretty easy for around $15 or less.

I have the UA heat gear leggings that I got this year and use them whenever I have a DH and have base and plate. They work great but lack protection. I however love my McDavid hex pad tights, I have taken some hard hits to the thigh and would have some nasty bruises without them. They are not the best at keeping you cool but they work more than adequately for me in this South Florida heat.

I have used a lot. The shock doctor ones that UA sells are by far my favorite. I also own under armor, and mcdavids. They all work. Shock doctor are just better for me.

I use the Starter brand from Walmart as well, and use them for every game.  They'v held up well for the two years I've had them, and they wick away the moisture in the heat and keep in some of the warmth in the cold.

I think Smittys are good on the basebs, but the sewn in cup holder sucks in my opinion. The McDavids are awesome, especially the floating cup holder. It does a great job of covering your kapiscatallys when you squat behind the catcher.

I wear them all the time. What's great about them is that the leggings allow your pants to slide around instead sticking to your legs when your sweating. I wear them when PU or BU. Stops shin guards or straps from rubbing your legs too.

I wear my Nutty Buddy over my UA underwear with NB jock then leggings over the NB.

UA - Great - Heat Gear over 50 degrees - Cold Gear under 50 degrees

Smitty-Great: Heavier material than UA. Could be warmer in the summer.

Walmart - Good: Waist band sucks

McDavid - Never tried

Shock Doc - Never Tried

I wear a store brand set of leggings I got from Academy and I wear them both on the bases and behind the plate. They aren't really compression but they wick sweat away and helps keep cool. One thing I like about them is they have a loose elastic waistband with a draw string to cinch them down tight.

Honors sells a pair of leggings with the cup octet and a drawstring to cinch them tight... I love them, also you can't go wrong with the starter tights from wal mart for 7 bucks.... I have No problem keeping them up with the waistband...

UA....

But now I wear Nike Combat gear... they are awesome.

I just picked up a Nike Combat compression shirt and am sold on it. I managed to pay only $15 at Ross. I may spring for the tights, at full price.

I have never had any luck with the cheap store brand gear.  I have tried them on a couple different occasions, wore them once, threw them away and went and bought UA.  It ended up costing me more than just buying the UA in the first place.  I have since bought a couple Nike items and really like them as well.  I am going to stay away from store brand from now on...

TJ Maxx recently opened about 40 miles from me, I stop every time I am in the area.  They have some great deals on Under Armour and Nike gear.  I recently bought a UA coldgear turtleneck for $12...

I have worn the McDavid hex tights for couple of years now. I have taken several shots to the thighs that without the tights would have left bruises, and with them, nothing. I wear both McDavid and UA heat/cold undershirts.

Mine are on their 4th Year and you can see how many games they have been used.
