I always say "got em" instead of "out." called strike three, i say "strike three" And give my hammer mechanic then crank my chainsaw. Close safe call ill say "nope! He beat it! Safe!" I only signal once and hold it for a few extra seconds. Called strikes, my verbal and mechanic occur simultaneously a long, loud "STRIIIIIIKE!"

Last night in a 13/14 year old game we had R1 with no outs and I'm BU. R1 steals on the 1-1 pitch. As catcher goes to throw, the batter bumps into him making the throw go way off mark. My partner stands there and makes no call. My question is this, as BU do I have any authority to make that call? The runner ended up on third due to the wild throw. I almost made the call, but let it go not wanting to invade on the PU's territory. Thoughts?

with games that are ten runs or more apart I will stick to my guns on high/low pitches, but on inside/outside I will widen some. Its easy to get away with calling inside and outside wider than it is high/low because the coaches can't see the inside/outside stuff as well. I don't see it as helping one team or another, I see it as doing my job. Calling strikes and outs. Both teams are ready to get out of there, so calling close ball after close ball just makes the game longer and more frustrating for either team.

F3 had to jump for the ball and the HC wanted confirmation he got his foot down in time. He did, we had the out and my partner's call was correct.

Game went well! No problems and the only hiccup was a banger at first the coach had my partner ask me for help on. 7 innings in just under 2 hours. 12-4 final.

Got my first varsity plate tomorrow. First game of a doubleheader. Kinda nervous, but I'm confident I got this.

I love mine. I've been hit multiple times ranging from JV down to 10 year olds and have yet to feel a thing. The JV pitcher that hit me was throwing mid 80's. No mark or bruise or anything. Love it!

The only problem I have with anyone using Posey as an example is that 1. Posey was on his knees which is way wrong for that situation. 2. Posey initiated contact just as much as Cousins. Watch the video, Posey leans into the hit. How do you protect runners in this situation? Does the runner get ejected and the catcher(without the ball) just gets to play innocent catcher? Teams will start teaching catchers to lean into these to get the call. Especially if its a player that strategically would help to have ejected. You can't say that the runner is the only head hunter in this situation. The catcher knows whats coming, and they've been trained how to properly handle it. Posey didn't properly handle it and he paid for it. -
I was in my 7th grade English class when another teacher came in and pulled my teacher out of the room. When my teacher came back, she was crying and we piled into the next door history class that had cable. We watched the events unfold going from class to class. the second plane hit during Science, the first tower fell during Reading, and the second tower fell during math. Very surreal, yet I remember not really grasping the seriousness of it all. I still remember everything that happened though.

velcro? slightly more secure and less bulky than plastic clips and still fairly easy to remove... Microfiber lining is a good idea and I use my interior pockets, thank you. lol. Also something that would be nice is a way to keep them from flopping around when you run. If I had an extra set of ball bags, I could make a prototype

once over with scrubbing bubbles, then spray them down with hair spray. Dry in 5 minutes and shine like new. They'll even squeak when you walk...

It's the riveted one. I sent them an email saying they need to update their photo and description. It's a pretty stout protector though. My girlfriend hit it an I felt nothing.

Called a 10yo perfect game last Monday night. Only time the ball was contacted by the away team was on the last play of the game. An easy grounder back to the pitcher that he fielded and threw to first for the easy out. Final was 11-0. Amazing pitcher for 10 years old.

I'm going with BI. By pulling the bat back IMO the batter has given up on the pitch and interfered with the catcher's ability to catch the ball.
