  1. my understanding is that anytime out #3 is a force out NO run can score. There's no timing to be had on a force play. So if R1 doesn't have a brain fart and BR does and misses first, then no runs score in that case either.
  2. yeah, if there were no runners on, this kid would single handedly go from hometown hero to hometown zero in nothing flat.
  3. I don't think so since the timing would have been before the BR crossed the plate. Had the situation been reversed with R1 scoring and BR missing 2nd then it would be 1 run and extra innings.
  4. 1 run. It was R1 only Extra Innings in that case
  5. Love it when I read and understand something
  6. Situation: Home team down 7-6 Bottom 7 w/ 2 outs. R1 only. Batter destroys one over the left field fence for a HR. As R1 rounds second, he misses the bag. After the runners are done and before all the infielders have crossed the foul line (had to include that). The DC appeals that R1 missed second. Since he's correct R1 is called out. My question is this: Since the appeal was on a base that was a force out for out #3, am I correct when I say that the HR is nullified and the game's over? VT wins 7-6?
  7. Not to hijack a thread, but who's even in the neighborhood of even coming close to breaking it? I know A-Rod was somewhere in the 600's but other than him I'm not sure.
  8. I have an Epiphone PR5-E Great sounding thin line acoustic. Even unplugged it's very nice sounding and very affordable.
  9. BTW, Metallica...Best live show ever. Master of Puppets live was the longest I've head banged consecutively in my life... Black Stone Cherry - Best southern rock since Lynyrd Skynyrd (I'm talkin original now) and second best live show. The Drummer does half his 10 minute drum solo with his hands and or forehead! Creed - Third best live show, but probably the best guitarist I've heard (also see Alter Bridge) Mark Tremonti is a beast
  10. I want a Taylor T5. Sweet guitar right there. Just a little outta budget.....maybe a lot out of budget....
  11. I'll never understand what the yankees see in that guy.... Its like my dad says about boats, they're just black holes in the water you throw money into. He's a black spot on the field they just keep throwing money into.
  12. please....
  13. Yankees Rangers
  14. Bahahahahahaha
  15. I use Smitty shirts and I love them. I've washed my navy blue 100 times and it still looks as good as the day I got it. They fit great and I have yet to have one come untucked during a game. No problems with tearing or anything either. Very nice in the heat also.
  16. Yo dude, I totally was just riding by on my board, bro, when this dude was all like "you wanna umpire baseball? We'll put your picture on the flyer!" I was like whoa! Picture? Flyer? Heck yeah dude!.... What's baseball???
  17. I use Costa RN11's polarized, but no mirror and they're amazing for all light conditions. not to dark for overcast days and they dont let much light in on bright days. Fit great with my mask too.
  18. Yeah, there's sites that have them for download of you look hard enough. Books A Million has them as well.
  19. I'm new here myself and learning a lot already. There's a lot of valuable information to be had here from a lot of very experienced umpires. Enjoy!
  20. What mechanic would you use? Call "that's interference" right then or signal delayed dead ball then call interference after the play? To let the play happen if a throw is attempted
  21. The bolded is pretty much all I need to know. If I think F2 is attempting to throw but the batter has denied him a lane to do so, it's BI. PU's judgement about F2 not being able to retire R1 is irrelevant. This was the consensus in the room last night
  22. I'm trying to give as much info as I can. This is how it was presented at the meeting. We argued over this for 45 minutes. The PU ruled no interference because in his judgement F2 couldn't have gotten R1 at second. The BU thought it was because F2 had no throwing lane to even attempt the putout without hitting the batter. PU admitted had F2 released the ball he would've had interference. Let me ask this. Does the fact F2 didn't throw stop you from calling interference or do you call it anyway? The problem I had is I'm not going to encourage a play where one kid has to hurt another just to get a call. That's a slippery slope....
  23. I went home last night and grabbed a bat and tried to swing it hard enough to see how hard I would have to swing to end up in front of the plate. I could not, not matter how hard I tried, swing in such a way that I "accidentally" ended up in front of home plate.
  24. The way it was described in the meeting was that the catcher would've nailed the batter in the head had he thrown it.
  25. I don't know, I think there is still a possibility. Who else could it be, other than some unknown character? Yup...this season did too. Did this series really peak at the end of Season 1? I think I've read a total of 2 or 3 comic books / graphic novels in my life but I am thinking about picking these up just to see if they are any better. They're wayyyyyy better
