Apparently the unequal's force powers have to balance out because I feel like I'm taking every shot you guys should've had to my diamond ix3. 5 Monday night and 6 in a JV last night. Freaking ball MAGNET. Those were just hits to the chest protector, not counting 3 to the foot last night and 5 to the shins between the two nights. Having said that, I highly recommend 3n2's plate shoes and diamond's shin guards and the Wilson Shock. Walking advertisement with no bruises.

Mine is the matte finish so it can't be polished but I do use a wet rag to remove dust/dirt between games

and it all comes back around to how you define "projected." Jocko says he was projected all along so therefore all screw ups must be fixed due to not accepting projections. JM says by being the first batter up to bat he is therefore NOT projected and a legal sub BOO (which I agree with). The coach messed up, subbed in, and put the wrong kid at the plate OUT OF ORDER. Its not my screw up to go back and fix. By all intents and purposes the coach was not trying to make a projected substitution of any kind. He's subbing for his hitter that's due up. The first kid to take the plate is the sub for B8. Nothing's projected, just a coach's error which in Jocko's explanation he takes it upon himself to fix because he has now talked himself into thinking it was his own mistake by taking a projected sub that wasn't actually projected. IMO that just looks bad. I'm not saying anyone is wrong or right, this is EXTREMELY grey. This is just how I would read this situation.
-
I'm still of the opinion you're fixing a coach's mistake. If the sub gets on base and the DC appeals BOO, what then? Do you open your mouth to save the OC's rear? Or leave it up to the OC to figure out? I'm not going to bring it up, but if the coach asks I'll tell him then that he can be an unreported sub. I won't offer it up as free information.
-
Unless you're following the batting order, how do you know he's not right? How do you know he's projecting? It's been stated that its not our job to follow his batting order. So if he subs for B8 and B8 comes up to bat, he's not projecting. He's subbing for his 8 slot which is BOO. Even in the OP the only way the umpire knew it was a projected sub was that the coach corrected his own error. Now if he wants to correct his own error and leave the sub in for B7 and let B8 remain in the game, that's fine. His call, not mine. I'm not going to help a coach fix his mistake. He gets paid to coach, I get paid to umpire. If the sub bats for B8 who as far as anyone knows is up next and gets on base and the defense appeals BOO and is correct, there's no back tracking. B8 batted out of order. If coach whines, tell him to keep a better handle on his batting order. That's just how I feel. The unannounced sub thing is correct, but I'm not going to offer up free information to save a coaches rear. He has to catch it himself.
-
It's not projected if the coach legitimately thinks B8 is due up. Not our job to guess intent nor is it our job to tell the coach B7 is up. If he wants to make that mistake, let him. You can't help a coach fix a situation. His mistake that he has to live with

I'd answer C because it matches what the book says word for word. I also think D should be All of the Above.

Yep...when I first saw the topic title, I was wondering where it was going. half the battle is having a catchy title

According to ESPN there were 8.5 million brackets submitted and there are no longer ANY perfect brackets.

B7 is due up. A substitution is made for B8. The substitute for B8 comes up to bat. S1 is now B8. B8 is BOO because B7 is due up and skipped. Coach gets the sub he wants and if appealed before the end of the at bat, B8 will take a seat and B7 will finish the at bat. The sub is for B8. That's the way coach wants it, that's the way he gets it. Not our job to play band-aid when the new sub bats out of order. He's on my lineup card as B8, announced and in the game batting out of order. Play Ball. Just do what the coach asks, nothing more. If it gets screwed up, its on him. Its his batting order to pay attention to.

haha here it only means to step on someone's toes or something along those lines. I didn't feel like I was in the wrong here, and I brought it up in postgame and he tried to make it sound like I was letting the coach tell me what to do. I was VERY irritated with him but instead of unprofessionally giving him a piece of my mind I just nodded and went on about my business. Ugh

FED is what i was asking for and it seems I have it understood. Thanks guys

My favorite is the curve that the batter thinks is going to hit him and falls to the ground to get out of the way of and it breaks in across the plate. Only time I've laughed that hard ringing a kid up.

This happens to me as well. On high speed it takes a little bit longer to load the main UE page than it does any other.

Has anyone else ever pulled this bonehead manuver?

I'm kind of anal about remembering stuff. I triple check and quadruple heck before I leave the house. I was that guy in band that always forgot something and I refuse to be that guy now. I do the "keys phone wallet" pat every time I leave somewhere just because I'm afraid I've left something. I always have that "what did I forget?" feeling.
