They haven't learned yet and it's been almost 40 years now since he made it to the bigs. If they haven't yet I doubt they ever will.

If the Big Leaguers would heed the advice they, no doubt, were given as Little Leaguers ("With 2 Strikes you swing at anything close!") and not put their AB in the hands of the PU, things would be so much better...

I thought Joe handled this well.  He gave Holliday a chance to voice his opinion when he did not need to.  Holliday just took it too far.  Why was he surprised?

Holiday made his point.  West told him to walk away and motioned it a number of times.  Of course Matheny wants to come out and say but he's walking away.  Good ejection, as the pitch was pretty good and the catcher made it look even better.

Close enough game and close enough pitch that Holliday should be swinging at it anyway. You can't let one like that go by.

That being said, nothing wrong with either of these ejections. Joe catches a lot of flak at times, but he gave Holliday and Matheny plenty of opportunities to stay in the game, and they both denied him.
