I think he was thinking.."Get out of my face you obnoxious POS" Certainly not something to copied by any of us.

Good ejection. Not so good post-ejection. I'd expect a fine for Papelbon and at the very least a private reprimand for West. I can't imagine a situation where Papelbon would be suspended and West wouldn't be.

I thought it was hilarious. Papelbon is like that 19 year-old spoiled frat kid that cries when daddy takes his allowance away.

I understand that this is an umpiring website, but to say the West did nothing wrong seems just like the homerism we hate to see from commentators. Obviously Papelbon was way out of line here, but that doesn't justify West's actions. Not completely.

What was he supposed to do? Nobody was there restraining Papelbon, so he did the least he could by grabbing him and pulling him out of the way.

Was it "right"? That's debatable, but it wasn't pretty from anyone.

Not even close to excessive. We can not let players behave like this. Make an example of the MLB players and just maybe (not likely) it will have a trickle effect on our players and coaches that this can not happen.

Joe's getting bumped -- is he supposed to stand there and take the bumping?

That was about as gentle a way as Joe could get himself out of there without any further physical contact between him and the player.
