Retired runner who was not running the bases normally. Intent not required. If he was hit running the fly ball out to 1B it would not be INT unless intentional.

I would not characterize that as "Interference causes a double play."

The BR was out on the catch, and then he interfered. His out was unrelated to the INT.

The umpire ruled retired runner INT, and he called out the runner being played on (R3).

No. I try never to make any claims about scoring.

I'm saying that the INT did not result in 2 outs.
