If a pitcher is injured during the inning and switches positions with F3, can the new pitcher receive unlimited warm ups or does the fact that F1 remained in the field limit him to 8 pitches?

Did anyone watch the Yankees National game last night? Yankees 2B hits a slow roller down the 3rd baseline that almost hit McCann. Michael Kay states that McCann was lucky the ball didn't hit him otherwise he'd be out (agreed). Then he states that if McCann was standing on the bag and got hit, he'd be safe. Is this just another case of announcers knowing nothing or am I missing something? F5 was slightly behind the bag so it didn't pass an infielder if he was hit on the bag.

Does Force3 sell replacement straps in case the buckles go? Always like to have spares in my bag.

I just went to a clinic with 4 current AAA umpires and they all taught down and in opposed to up and back. The higher you go the greater likelihood for an injury or concussion. You probably will not see the release but you will see the catch. Also, if the catcher is that tight inside, if it's not inside, it's not a strike.

You enforce the BALK (not the hbp) if not everyone advances. So, if this is the one you missed, did you have question 4 (using this site's numbers), and if so, what did you put. My friend had it and we had R3 out and BR gets first.

I put C. It is a delayed dead ball from the balk but when the batter got hit it became a dead ball. My thought process was that R2 did not advance a base while the BR did so now we enforce the HBP. R2 returns. I only got one wrong on the test and I don't think this was the one. Although it could have been.

I did mean to say would not count. I was reading too much into my question. My situation the 2nd out is the force, the third is the appeal of R2 so the run scores. Thanks.

I realize there has been great discussion surrounding the advantageous 4th out appeal. I have numerous questions on the test and when I read 8-6-b9-AR, is it stating that the order of appeals does not matter in the advantageous 4th out appeal. (9) If there are two outs before the appeal on a runner, the appeal becoming the third out, no runners following the appealed out shall score, and if the appeal is a force out, no runners preceding or following the appealed out shall score. (See Rule 2 - Force Play.) A.R. -- If the defense will make more than one appeal, the defense must appeal in the correct order unless it is an advantageous "fourth out" appeal. Ex.. R2 and R3. 1 out. B4 hits a gap shot. R3 scores. R2 misses third base and B4 misses first base. If the defense appeals B4 and then R2, does the run score. According to the AR, the run would count since one of the outs was a force out. Thanks.

It was on last year's test in the newsletter. The correct answer is interference and send R1 back.

So if the catcher hasn't secured the ball but is still able to throw out the runner, you're sending him back? It's the same in NCAA, "d. If a batter swings and misses a pitch and the backswing is so forceful that it hits the catcher as the pitch is caught, or if the batter hits the ball again, the pitch shall be called a strike, the ball is dead (no interference) and no runner shall advance on the play; (1) If the follow-through hits the catcher and occurs in a situation where the batter normally would become a runner because of a third strike not held by the catcher, the ball shall be dead and the batter declared out. No runner shall advance. (2) If the catcher is in the act of making a throw to retire a runner and the batter is in the batter's box and his normal follow-through unintentionally strikes the catcher or the ball while the catcher is in the act of throwing, “Time†is called and runners return (unless the catcher's initial throw retires the runner)."

Even with backswing interference, if the runner is retired with the initial throw, he is still called out along with the batter for strike three. You don't always send the runner back on backswing interference.

What don't you like about WeatherBug. LL seems to endorse it. no one said anything about liking, or not liking .... yes? also .... Isn't the best way to spot lightning w/ your eyes, and not have to bother w/ your phone at a game? Or, am I reading this wrong? It could be the first bolt that hits a player so you have no warning. Therefore coaches have an app on their phones if a lightning detector is not equipped on the field.

Central hub has an article on this today. Fix it with the coach first. Already had it during my past weekend series.
