Hey guys! Wanted to create a forum where we talk about our favorite ump life product! I would have to say one of my favorites is the V3 umpire accessory bag! What about you guys!

@Razzerwhat was your favorite product to make and design?

Posted

I have many Umplife products (ball bags, mask bags, shoe bags, UBag) and I appreciate everything Ray does for us umpires.  For my money the best product is absolutely the mask harness.  I was just wondering if anyone has had issues with recent harnesses.  My original ones were 4 years old and still in great shape except some fading.  So in the fall I purchased 2 new ones from UA.  I only recently got around to installing them for the upcoming season.  The cams do not seem to "seat" all the way.  I have been working them for about a week and they are closer to being "closed" but no where near as much as my originals.  The other issue is on just the top strap the stitching seems to be in the wrong place and the strap will not lay flat as you can see from the picture.  Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues.  There was a post recently about the cams but it now seems to be gone.

I don't have a favorite.

  • chest protector harness - I have one for each chest protector I have. I never have to consider my protector once my shirt is on. The harness keeps it in place without fail and with great comfort
  • mask harness - keeps my mask on my head but loose enough so any facials allow the mask to absorb the energy of the baseball so my cranium does not
  • ball bags - two different styles for when I need two; one holds about 6 baseballs comfortably and the other allows for a plate brush and other things a plate umpire may need to perform his or her duties
  • lineup cards - I have the original and the updated version with offset magnets; both are well made, hardy, and fit wherever I'd like to keep them.

When more products hit the marketplace I will buy them without hesitation or any worries to reviews or price points. I will continue to support @Razzer's work because his products are superior to all other options.

I bought the harness last year it was perfect. I bought another for a new mask this year and it would not clamp down just like yours. I compared the buckles and found the new one only had two rows of those little “grippers” under the buckles to secure the strap. My old one has four(see pic). Ump attire replaced mine when we found this defect. If your buckles only have two rows, get in touch with Hunter at Ump Attire. He knows about this now. They will replace.

Love all the products. I use umplife mask harness, lineup holder, hat keeper, and ball bags. I think the ball bags are my favorite. They hold a ton of baseballs comfortably and hand access into the bag is super easy. After a full season I see no noticeable fading yet.

THANK YOU so much for this information!!! I contacted Ump-Attire today because I had the same two-row version; they had me send a pic and are sending me a new one.  Great customer service from them as always; I hope they aren't getting stuck with the loss on this.

Glad I could help. It’s a great harness. I was glad to see it was a defect in production and not a manufacturing change. Ump attire is the best for customer service. If only some other companies ( not necessarily umpire or even sports) could follow this business model.

I like the fact that they are in accent colors of black/grey, black/Skye blue, and black and pink.

These are the preferred bags for Spring Training. I can hold 18-20 baseballs with relative ease. 16 is about maximum so as to bust out from behind the plate without the risk of one popping out. But even then, having 8 in each is very appreciated by the MLB/MiLB staffs who typically do NOT relish trotting out to resupply you with baseballs during an inning. They especially dislike the “Captain Cool” one-baggers.

MLB/MiLB pitchers go through a lot of baseballs. With these bags, not only can I carry a significant quantity, but I can put two different baseball types – one in each bag – and switch between them fluidly in accordance to which pitcher requires them.

Two seasons ago, I did Team Korea visiting the Rangers. I had to switch between three different balls. Man, I wish I could (truly) juggle!

But alas, mine have faded; this Arizona sun is merciless.

Live and umpire most of my schedule in the Coachella Valley, desert, and the ball bags do fade. But I almost always have a hot sun shining down on me. Ray can't do anything about that, although he should try harder to block out the sun on days I'm working.

You should see how many (or how few, some of those look like stubs) fingers he has when he gives the count!

I get the umbrella, what is the rest of the micro-soundstage around his head?

(And I still didn't get the accent colors thing . . . sorry.)

I tried to dye them, but it didn't work. Ray did advise me to spray them with an outdoor sunshield. Using Scotchguard and hoping the desert doesn't tear them up too bad.

Interesting. I guess something like this may work?
