Hey all. I'm looking to see if anyone has suggestions for some what current umpire learning/training content on YouTube? I am already subscribed to UEFL, UCU, BBUC, and Tri State Umpires. I also came across Old Dominion Umpire Association out of Virginia. But almost through with their stuff and the newest thing they have is 2018.

Thanks in advance for your guys help.

Umpire Youtube is largely a desolate wasteland of "HURR DURR BAD UMPIRE RUINED JOHNNYS FUTURE MUST SEE!!!", beaten-to-death clips we've all seen a bazillion times, and a couple actually good videos. The TSE, UEFL, and UTU channels are by far the best.

It's also important to note that most of the places you could actually get the combination of resources and quality instruction from will never EVER put it out there for free and will make you throw down your money to come their camps and clinics and whatnot.

I was going to revive the UE YouTube channel this year, but between not actively umpiring, helping my son with his Calculus "home schooling" and a new passion project I've gotten involved with I just can't seem to find the time. I've got a list of topics that could run the channel for a year, but time is the problem.

Maybe when he's finished with Calc, that should free up 5-10 hrs a week.

Have you looked at Baseball Rules Academy?

I’n out of my lane a bit with the suggestion, but pretty impressed with what I’ve seen here by Chris Welsh, with help from Ted Barrett:  https://baseballrulesacademy.com/video-library/

They do a nice job. They do interesting plays during the season and break down the correct rules that govern the play. The quiz shows they ran during lockdown in the spring were fun also.

Personally I like John Gallante. He has a few good cage videos, along with mic'd up instruction videos.

I really like his stuff.

Something I just discovered. Our own @grayhawkhas his own channel.

You gonna drop the link or keep me hangin'?

It's mainly a bunch of short clips for training. But it was a pleasant surprise when I noticed the channel name on one of Kevin Fitzgerald's Facebook posts of a case play video.

I also recommend checking out the Strong Beach Umpires (Long Beach, CA) youtube page. Also newly discovered today by joining their Zoom clinic this morning... New Mexico Officials Association (NMOA) has a bunch of great videos for all sports. But in particular about 15 hour long videos with the likes of Billy Haze, Brian DeBauware, Mike Everitt, Bill Miller, and more!

@grayhawk's videos are great quality plays to analyze

Strong Beach has some of the best umpiring content I've ever seen anywhere. Period. That was almost a spiritual experience seeing things so well and succinctly explained. I hope my videos can hold a candle to that!

I need to sit down and watch them. I highly recommend checking out the New Mexico Officials Association youtube link I put in above. Lots of good stuff.

Is that @umpstu?

Not unless he surprise relocated from California to Ohio.

Still... some really good content there.

Also, MIBT Online will be working with Sam Holbrook on content. Right now they are all basketball/football. But baseball will be after the new year.
