​Agreed. I didn't mean a 'tough one' to call, but for the pitcher, a tough one to swallow.

Yes its a balk, I just would not have the stones to end a game on a balk like that, just an exhale! I guess thats why I'm not an MLB umpire

Here's one from 1986.  (The two teams would go on to meet in arguably the greatest ALCS in history later that season).  I'm not sure I see the balk, but what is funny is that Joe Brinkman (the plate umpire) at his umpire school more than a decade later showed this video twice: once with the Red Sox announcers and once with Angels announcers.  What is funny is that the Red Sox announcers (as they are showing the replay over and over) go on-and-on about what a "great call" it was by a "big-time veteran umpire".  While the Angels announcers practically go ballistic saying that it was a travesty that such a great game ended on such a ticky-tack call.

It was/is the greatest example I have ever been shown of persons truly viewing the same game through lenses soaked in their team's colors.

Angels manager Gene Mauch agreed it was a balk, but said “Even if he (Fischer) did, the umpire had no business calling it because nobody in the ballpark knew it but him.”7

"I can't believe he called a game on something like that," Bobby Grich said about the call by Brinkman. "Not on a balk. Make him get a hit or give us another chance. You don't lose a game because a guy moves his hands one inch apart."8

Naturally, Red Sox manager John McNamara had a different interpretation of the finish. “I’ve never seen a wilder inning with two out. I’m very proud of these players. They had a tough day and showed a lot of character.”9

Ya of course I see the movement after the exhale, still just a tough, tough call to swallow, even if you know its correct.  F1 or Texas didn't argue, so they know its right.  

Not that it matters, but do you think anyone would have complained if the balk was not called?
