new safety equipment for mask

This info was shared by our HS unit assigner . Sounds interesting , if of course it really works as advertised . In the video the umpire mentions San Marcos , i believe he is referring to San Marcos California ?

Has anyone else seen or heard of this product , or something similar ?

We don't wear our masks like this. Your mask should be hanging slightly from your chin when you look down. I think your mask being worn correctly will do as much to assure it comes off at impact as this item.

 

Finally, I don't see how a strap will reduce force to your head. By the time the energy flows to the strap, it has already gone through your head. Maybe it prevents secondary -tertiary impacts, but by then the worst of the damage is done.

Look at :50. States its the same force regardless of what strap you have. Look at how narrow his bars are on his mask!

The way the straps are on the head. I don't think I would feel safe like that. Plus, why not adjust your current straps?

We want to wear the mask loose enough so it does come of our head if it can. The rule of thumb is to keep it loose enough so that when you look down it is hanging about an inch off of your chin. This way the force is able to be directed in the masks movement rather than our head. I think it is the same principle that this mask strap is trying to achieve.

Come on if you want to be in the protective equipment market at least look like you know what you're talking about.

Well it looks like a normal strap to me, does it go around your head in a different spot? He's a bit nutty, but he's someone trying make it, which I can't dislike. Over $30 is steep.

Looks to me like the strap is just adjusted differently.

 

Also looks like it is time for a new mask? Maybe the not feeling the hit is due to the TW pads and the 30# of steel?

 

I don't understand how he thinks the straps prevent the impact. Just keep it loose enough to spin off and should be good (and wear good pads!).
