He has a choice, 1st baseline or 1st BLE. You get exactly the same look, you just have to decide which one is easier to get to in the allotted time. I have heard guys say one is better than the other, not true in most plays like this. Where one side gets better than the other is when the slides is straight at the catcher but more to the infield or more to the foul side. When that happens one side you have to get farther around, the other way a little short. Which that is depends on the play and you just have to read it.

Great adjustment to 1BL. The throw took F2 on to 3BL and PU simply continues to rotate from the most likely best position to the actual best position.

I like coming into fair territory better because you get a good look and you can also see if F2 maintains possession of the baseball. If you take all plays starting at 3BLX as is the new mechanic being taught, then it is a no brainer to rotate out into fair territory on this.

they teach if the ball beats the runner and the catcher is waiting with the ball(not a swipe tag) to get to the side to see the tag--true most times they teach to go 3base ex and step to your left to see tag but this looked real good.
