I have to say, I'm still curious how the social distancing will play out as we go back to something close to being normal. I've heard (haven't personally seen it) Little league has published an option (believe it or not) giving HPU option to umpire from behind the mound. That's all well and good. Is the catcher positioned within 6 feet of the batter? Hmmmmmmmm.........

ok, I'm on the "definitions" train. That's what I did with all of my JR umpires. Once they understand that..........they will have a better understanding of what they read in the rest of the book.

Let's call it what it is. It's a 12 y/o's dream............. Is a 12y/o not making it to Williamsport going to change anything in their future? That's a rhetorical question. If they're a good player, it will continue to show. Along with high school seniors, who dream of college scholarships, as that's the only way many of them will be able to afford an opportunity at continuing education.............at least NCAA is allowing Spring sport seniors another chance next year.

............or his/her commitment issues are developing at a young age.

IF (and that's a big if(pun intended)) there is one, I can see all tournaments leading up to this as single elimination. Win......or go home.

Call me the good guy, the nice guy, whatever. 12 years in the Marines.............trust me when I say I've been called worse. I work in Supply Chain. I am an essential employee. I've gotten out of the house (currently working from home) and traveled to my site for at least 1 day, each of the last 4 weeks. I am paid well and STILL collecting a check every 2 weeks. For the $1300 or so that I would earn working HS ball, to me, it isn't worth it. Besides, that would leave whatever I do not apply for, for someone else who needs it more. ...................yes, I DO have more ammo than toilet paper.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not leaving Little League though. With 2 replaced knees, a 2 level neck fusion, and from having Uncle Sam chew me up for 12 years, physically, it's just time. I don't feel I can get around on a bigger diamond, like I used to with a 2 man rotation. I can't keep up with a 15-18 year old runner very well. When I feel that I can no longer give the players what they deserve, it's time to step aside. Granted, when comparing field size to speed of plays........I just don't have as far to go on a little field.

Well, it looks like my last year of HS Ball................turned into just that. LAST YEAR!

@Razzer please be sure to let us know when these hit the market. I too have a McDavid version, but slightly modified. They were tights, so I cut the legs off and stitched a new bottom seam to make them shorts. Not pretty, but I'm not droppin' my pants on the field either.
