My wife and I will be moving to Salem, Mo. and I am trying to find information about high school umpire associations in southern Missouri. Also who assigns for them and college umpires. Thanks in advance.

I just want to know why you're moving out of Kommiefornia?

Missouri is a beautiful state so I'm sure you'll love the rolling holls and green-ness of it all in that area.  They've got an abundance of wildlife in that area too!

And meth labs! Don't forget about the meth labs! 😄

@umpstu, you'll be quite close to Lake of the Ozarks. I grew up going down there from KC in the summers. Definitely a fun place to be!

Now that's off the beaten path!

Salem is a small town south of Rolla, MO.   I know some folks from Rolla, Vichy and Salem and held a revival in Salem a couple of years ago for a small church there.  Unfortunately, none of my contacts are umpires.

Happy & Safe Travels!

I am quite familiar with the Salem area ass my mother and father grew up here and I will be moving onto and building a house on the family farm.

Love California, but it has been a dream of ours to live outside of Salem.

Guys, I grew up in Missouri and spent a lot of my youth in the area we are moving to. I'm very familiar with it.

Find out what high schools / colleges are in the area.  Then, call the AD and ask him.

I love it! I’d love to have a farm!

All I want is ten acres to build a house on.

Give Bob Coons a shout. He may be able to help you out in that area. bcoons10@me.com

That's a great start!  A few acres of my own in the Midwest where hopefully there's less pollution (noise pollution, chemical pollution and city light pollution) where one can get away from the hustle & bustle and truly relax.   It's a dream of mine, but my area just got an Intel factory and my small little rural world is quickly becoming the big city now.  I've grown up 30 miles east of Columbus, OH and still live out there - but I work in the city.   In the past 20 years, I've seen my small city turn into a suburb of the big city slowly, but now with the giants coming (Intel, Meta, Microsoft, etc.) we're at light speed now.  The four lane highway is being expanded and the prices and costs of living are really starting to soar.   I long for the corn fields, farms and meadows again... now all I see are new factories and subdivisions going up in their place.  It's both a blessing and a curse, but the cynic in me wonders if this is truly progress.

I digress from my moaning and wish you Congratulations and much happiness on your move to the farmlands and forest of Missouri.  I'm happy for you!

I grew up in O'Fallon, Mo. and it had about 7,000 people in it in 1970, if you counted livestock. It now has a population approaching 94,000. Hwy K used to be 2 lanes and you would be lucky to see another car as you drove 100 mph from one end to the next. It is now 6 lanes. Who says you can't go home? I do.

He is more based up in the Columbia/Jeff City area. I'm not exactly sure how far down they reach. But it is a good start and can point you in the right direction if he isn't the one that can help you.

I love Kommiefornia, too. Both me and my wife are natives, born and raised in the same city. I especially like the excessive taxation, high fuel and energy prices, inflated home and rent prices, lack of water that is also ridiculously expensive, higher cost for everything, excessive regulation, the 800-1000 new laws passed every year (that's no lie). They've done such a great job of making things better, haven't they?

But the weather is F*#King amazing down here!

That's too funny! I can see how that sounded! :D

I meant to type both me and my wife! Maybe polygamy will come to California, too! We're so progressive!

Yet you're still there for some reason.

Didn't I say? The weather. Of course, you were in the desert, so you didn't stay because of the weather.

Seriously, I'm staying because of the policies, I like them. Don't you?
