Heyyyy, look at that! With that seam ripped, you can see the yellow sofa cushion foam Wilson has used for all these years because they are cheap, unimaginative hacks. If Team Wendy was still doing retrofits, this would be an ideal candidate to take apart and have re-padded (I wouldn't wear it, but would sell it to one of my fellow umpires). Hell, if Wilson offered pad kits – sofa cushion foam or not – this would still be a good candidate. Wilson, though, doesn't care, and just wants you to buy a new unit.

Maybe in a few months, once I get some capital going and I can start my own gear rehab business. Hmmmm...

Ouch. A bit steep. Is the different plate and t hooks really worth the extra $40-60? Would rather drop that on making it a Douglas-Douglas.

For what it's worth I wish my Douglas had the t hooks but I don't wanna pay to send it in and get them done, so I'll just use the buckles. The bottom plate on mine (15") does stick out just a bit, which t hooks would help.

Looked at it again (thanks to @conbo61for sending me down an eBay vortex last night at around 6am). The extra $40-60 is the buy it now. It currently sits at $175 with out any bids.

I personally hate the hooks. I hate the way they stick out on the shirts. Rather have the side clips. But saying all this my Gold is still my favorite!

not eBay but a great deal nonetheless. And he said he would ship it

Aluminum? I wasn't aware that Rawlings ever made an aluminum mask.

Either this guy doesn't know what he has, or he does know, and knows that there is "fear" in the market regarding Titanium masks...

... which that one is.
