For some of us, that's all we have! And I've said this before. Tucking in jackets: one of those silly umpire only fashion statements that looks horrible.

I have the luxury of not having to wear a jacket when on the plate - the most I ever need is a long sleeve shirt.  On the bases, one of my jackets is made to be tucked - it would look like crap if it wasn't.  If I wear the Majestic convertible, then I don't tuck it.

The one habit of Greg Gibson's I refuse to adopt is tucking jackets and really I don't know why you older guys like it. It's nerdy looking and it makes the person in question look much rounder than they actually are. Not to mention it feels weird. Tucking jackets=ew in my book. Don't even know where it got started, probably some umpire who really didn't understand the idea of a good appearence.

 

Gibby will not tuck jackets, unless it's behnd the plate. He's a NL guy, and NL guys didnt tuck... Umpires at Harry's couldnt tuck there jackets

I've seen him do it at third but nowhere else...he doesn't wear jackets behind the plate anyways. Blazer or polo.

No more jackets on the plate for me. Long sleeve shirt, and as many layers underneath as needed depending on the temp. When it's real cold the thermal shirt comes out and goes over the under armour.

While it looks like Kellog wore a tucked in long sleeve shirt in game 6 behind the plate I believe Nelson is wearing a tucked in jacket behind the plate for game seven. Would the moderators please delete any previous fashion threads that might cause someone to think wearing a tucked in jacket behind the plate is anathema.

Nelson ALWAYS does this.  Whenever there's a chance, it's either the 3/4 zip tucked, or the Cool Base tucked ..........

 

 

Jeff Nelson also wears long sleeve shirt behind plate.  Did it a couple times this year.  We may all agree that the best dressed award goes to Hunter

Thank you for reviving this thread. It's February and no matter what you wear, if you're on a baseball field, stay warm. If you're calling scrimmages right now we don't care if you tuck, don't tuck, wear long sleeve UA under short sleeve whatever. Just keep everything black. Unless you only have a blue watchcap in your back seat to go over your black cap. That is approved due to non global warming.

If you don't agree make sure all your teams are wearing approved uniforms in the cold weather. Only pitchers can wear jackets.
