Just showed up on my door step. Good deal, off of eBay (sorry if I outbid you).

First impression: This thing fits me like a glove. It's a 15", and wear a 42R jacket, for what it's worth. The complaints about a tight neck may be true, if you're built like a fire hydrant. It fits over my 7 1/4" noggin, and sits on my 17" neck just right. I just needed to tighten up the straps, and voila!

That harness is just the best. I've been living with that plastic crap on the WVs far too long. That harness is going on all my c/p's.

The two lower edges, that dip down from the center, just cover my lowest ribs. My Platinum and Gold were always just a hair short, in that regard. What a brilliant design.

I don't have to cut off those "wings" if I don't like them, like on a Gold. They Velcro off.

Yeah, it's not made of carbon fiber (that would have been so cool), and all the padding doesn't come off. but oh well. I'm sorry I took so long to snag one.

I've had one of nearly everything, save a custom made Carlucci. This rig might be my new favorite. I'll let you know after a few games. What I wonder is: why hasn't this thing caught on?

Q to you MLB geeks: Do any pro guys wear these? I've never notice them on TV.

Glad you like it, I have one and liked it but now I have too many good CPs (Unequal & WVG W/ TW Retro) and will likely be selling it. I would be surprised if MLB guys are wearing it, they get free WV's and free TW retros....

Funny.  Kyle, you're on here enough, and have always been a gear-hound and THIS is the FIRST experience w/ the Delta Flex ?!?!  We've been trying to tell you! :D

What do you mean when you say all the padding doesn't come off?  I have one and all my padding comes off and is machine washable.  That's what I love about it...I never have to buy a new CP, just buy new padding.

I think he means that the padding is velcro'd to material attached to the shell ... it's not padding, but I think that's what he's referring to

I resemble that fire hydrant remark. It is a great CP...I am with @T-Rav. I have too many other CPs that I use...TW Retros and an Unequal. Don't need four CPS...probably don't need three, but that is where I am going to stay for a while. Will probably unload some in the spring...no one seems to be buying stuff right now.

Hey, I'm looking to swap my WV Gold for something else. Got anything you wanna sell?

I have a Champion P220, a Schutt Air-Flex and/or a (very expensive) Douglas I'd be willing to trade for a W/V Gold or System 7

Yeah, the Delta Flex is something I've been meaning to get around to for some time. Surely a "why didn't I do this sooner" moment, like sporting a Nutty Buddy for the first time.

I'm supposed to be teaching plate mechanics to kids at a clinic tomorrow night. I'll see if I get a picture of it.

I have the System 7. I am 6'2" with a 19" neck and a 48 chest. I am a slender 265lbs and I have the 12" System 7. I placed a women's basketball in the neck and placed in the sun for about 3 days in a row. Wore it with no issues in the neck. It does take a bit to get used to how it rides up, not down. The only issue I have really ever had is if I looked down to brush the plate I sometimes get chocked by it. A quick tug on the neck of the CP gets me the clearance I need. I have full coverage on my ribs and I have taken a few shots that have left ball marks on the CP where they hit. I love mine and wouldn't trade at this point for anything...

What size should I purchase? I am 5' 11" and 190.

It depends on how you're built.

I'm 5-11 and 225 and wore the 15.  this gave me COMPLETE rib coverage.  Remember, this CP will fit / sit higher up on your body due to the Delta Flex harness that makes it fit so nice! :)

That said, you could probably get away w/ a 12.  Also, remember, the 12 and 15 are the measurement in front .... the sides drop an inch for additional rib coverage

The Delta Flex doesn't fit well on all CP's. Without sewing on extensions to the straps, there's no way it'll fit my Gold.

Why do the Delta Flex harnesses not fit on some CPs? Do the straps not reach around far enough on CPs with the T-hooks in the front?

yes, typically that's it ....

My Douglas has the T-hooks and it reaches just fine. Maybe its whats between the strap and the front of the cp?!?

I think the physique (or lack thereof) is the reason for some of us though. Just sayin'

Agreed. Got a delta flex for my platinum. Just put it on last night and it is extremely tight. I am at the end of the straps on the T-Hooks. Of course I am a fat guy and that is the main issue.

The fit will take some getting used to, but the the chest protector sits high and tight like it should. No more sagging down and exposing the collarbones. I think I will like it a lot once I lose some pounds and get it broke in.

we can only hope to one day be as fit as you, sir!

When you get t-hooks on the Douglas, the slot aren't as close to the center as a Gold or Platinum.  That is part of the reason ...
