I apologize. I typed it wrong. I awarded the batter 1st base and the runner was returned to 3B. The coach then wanted to take the out and allow the runner to score. I thought that the ball is dead upon the interference.

Runner on 3rd and playing high school rules, Batter swings and grounds out to 2B runner scored but there was catcher's interference. I called the batter out and the runner was returned to 3B. The offensive coach preferred and requested the result of the play. I didn't allow it. Was I wrong?

That is a good point. For what it's worth, I don't know how the league is going to deal with the forfeit. They may very well continue the game which I would be totally ok with. By the way, I was doing the game solo because my partner never showed up.

I was actually extremely cool and never raised my voice. However, that very well may be the case but I think that other umpires accept the abuse and/or make idle threats. I just want to reiterate that I had warned the head coach that I was about to end the game. In my judgement, both the player and coach did not heed my warning. I think that I could've handled it better, you are right. With every game that I do my goal is to improve. I love to umpire.

Thank you for the input. The games are nine innings. I do not feel jaded. I umpire for fun and I sacrifice a lot doing a game on a Sunday morning, giving up family time. I forfeited the game because the player was asked numerous times to leave and refused too. When he came back to continue to argue, I had had enough.
