With runner on 3rd Base, batter hits a low fly ball to third base side in foul territory. As runner returning to base, 3B collides with runner. Runner out for interference batter continues his at bat. However, my partner on the bases made the call that batter gets 1st base. (Later I found out that he didn't realize that the ball was foul). The offensive coach argued the interference with my partner. I didn't want to act like I was questioning his interference call so I tried to make eye contact with him so we could meet but he didn't want help. I should've overruled his call and feel bad that I didn't. Rookie mistake.

For my association, I do not think that it has anything to do with "kickbacks" or such. It is about uniformity.

Hello all! Are the Honig's Charcoal and the Gerry Davis Charcoal the same shade? Or are the noticeably different? After much deliberation, I have decided to buy the ALL STAR SYSTEM 7. The question I have now is which size to buy, 12" or 15". I have checked their website and it doesn't help. I am 5' 11" and 190 lbs. medium build. Any advice would be appreciated.

I know that this has been written about ad nauseam and I have read several topics regarding the issue so forgive me in advance. I was originally thinking the WV Gold CP for $146 at batter's choice with FREE SHIPPING. Now I am thinking the Schutt XV for around $90 because I read that it is lighter, not as bulky and you don't sweat as much. Please provide your thoughts.....Thanks

Inter-squad game behind the plate. 1-two plays at home. One was really close and I called the runner safe. It was a wild pitch and the runner from third slid and the catch dove. bang-bang. The coach asked me after the inning if the catcher missed the tag in a polite way. I answered that the runner beat the tag. Later on another wild pitch, the catcher tossed it to the pitcher but the runner was safe because he beat the throw and was under the tag. It was an easy safe call. The coach started saying that's two calls that you blew. I didn't even look over. When he continued a bit more, I just turned my head towards him and he stopped. 2- I was flinching a lot with high fastballs. I really need to work on that. Pretty embarrassing but the pitcher was throwing high 80's. 3- starting pitcher threw a nasty curve that caught me by surprise and was a strike right down the middle but I called it a ball. I told the catcher that I missed it. A couple of fans laughed in the background. It was early in the game so I think I recovered well because I didn't hear those fans anymore during the game. 4-A pitch was about 4 inches inside and the catcher said "c'mon blue that was a strike". I told him, " I'll remember that when you are hitting"... He didn't say much after that. 5- I haven't had my Davis pants tailored yet so I wore some Dalco combo pants and they fit very well with the Davishins. I hope the the Davis Plate pants aren't too baggy. Feedback?

Rolando! ... I ordered the Plate and Base Pants yesterday... The overwhelming advise is to avoid the combo...it was never a money issue. Thank to all of you as always for your advice. I love this forum. I will be umpiring by first high school (inter squad) game on Thursday. Really looking forward to it.
