I started in 94 at age of 16 umpiring we wore the light blue button up Elbeco shirts.  Just wondering how many guys are left from this generation or are most of the guys used to wearing the polo shirts?

I sure did..still have one from the old days............(doesn't fit unfortunately).......but once we went to the pullover, Ive never looked back.......

I've always wanted one to wear and do an old school game. I'm betting they really are cooler than most of the heavier weight and darker color polo shirts.

I do remember that my first Navy pullover was a very thick polyester Cliff Keen and that it was very hot, but at that time I was just so happy to finally get on an updated uniform par with the rest of the umpire world, I didnt mind it that much....

Wore them a few years.  Like the current style much better.  Plus, the new style doesn't show button strain as much.

I stil got one, all patched up and ready to go. LOL....The Polos are so much better and more comfortable. For me they were hot and did not move or breath well.

I started in 1999, polos were the norm by then. Of course, you also had zip up and dazzle polos, so it wasn't all good!

Back a few years ago I found a new, in the wrapper, Elbeco on eBay. Bought it for five bucks and have worn it a couple of times when working solo. My impression is that they don't breathe as well as modern polos and it seemed hot to me.

I've got three. One XL, and two larges, ironed and ready to rock 'n roll for special occasions.

With a breeze, they're cooler. I think some may remember them being worn with a slimy cotton T-shirt, instead of modern undergarments.
