When I posted originally it was snowing and sticking. By noon the sun was out, at 7:00PM it was 50 degrees. They are calling for snow tonight.   It won't do squat but it may screw up opening day tomorrow.

Ugh, just had my whole week of games cleaned out by rain/snow/wet fields.  Hopefully will get in some work on Saturday if I get assigned a couple of games.

Going way off topic here. I got 2 days of in school suspension in 3rd or 4th grade for doing a book report on Don't Eat the Yellow Snow. The suspension wasn't entirely based on the book and it's content, my report was just as crude.   I think that was my introduction to being suspended at some level for being a smart ass.

4 inches of snow on the way today... rain and snow tomorrow... an inch+ of rain expected on Saturday... more snow coming Sunday.  Looks like I'm losing at least 8 games. If you live east of Missouri, heads up!

Nice to know I'm not alone. 8 cancelations, 1 scrimmage so far. Canceled today because there's still snow on the ground from Monday night's storm because it's barely been over 32 since. Looks like that midwest storm is heading east and we're supposed to get more crap Sunday into Monday. Looks like my clinic/scrimmage/evaluation game will to toast, along with Tuesday. That will make 10 cancelations out of 11 games.

Season started last week. I had a game on Saturday, in almost-freezing temps (thankfully, I didn't have the second game). Rain on Sunday, so it washed out Tuesday's game (not the best field in the area). Wednesday's double-header was "colded-out". Now, we're looking at substantial snowfall on Saturday night into Sunday night, which will probably "snow out" my games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

This, I believe, is the latest I've ever seen snow on a forecast.

My games for next Saturday have now been canceled.  I have 2 weeks of work trips (next week and the week of the 8th of April) and I couldn't be happier.  My first dates this year will be a college DH on April 14, the latest I've ever started.  I'll probably go 7 days a week from there until mid-June.

 

But the weather is such that I'm not aching to get on the field.  Working in 30 degree weather has never been a real turn-on for me.

Had 2 cancelled today - we got 14 inches of snow last Tuesday.

I open tomorrow with 2 (College). They are going - turf field has been cleaned off. Temp around 40 - that is almost SS shirt weather here!

HS opens 4/4 - the way the white   is melting, we should be good. I now only have 4" or so on my lawn.

I am ready - no baseball since last October!

Just picked up a varsity game for tomorrow 2.5 miles from my house. We took the rotten poles off the field beside my house. They should be back playing there Monday.

Couple scrimmages scheduled for this week. Opening day is March 30. I have a DH that day.

Storm is supposed to be in Ohio tomorrow, Monday and possibly Tuesday. I think all scrimmages in Central Ohio will be canceled this week. Believe there's a possibility opening day could be compromised.

Opened my season today - DH DIII games. What a site - bright green field surrounded by snow banks. Thought I had seen it all - but spring baseball in Maine can take the cake. The weather was 38 degrees with a wind chill much lower than that.

Looks like I'm going to miss another one Monday and very possibly Tuesday with the storm heading east. That's 9 cancellations, 1 scrimmage this month.
