That goes for ALL of the Transition lenses. Not just the Oakleys

yep. It's all the same technology. Transitions is actually a trademarked name of the technology made by a company called Essilor. All Transition lenses are actually Essilor lenses, and then processed by other optical companies for their frames, Rx orders, etc.

Essilor has recently come out with a Transition lens that is polarized when it darkens called Vantage. . Quite a big breakthough in the optical world. (Not available  from Oakley yet  :TD:)

I mentioned earlier in this thread that I have the flak jacket xlj with the transition lenses that I got through US Standard Issue.  They go from grey on sunny days to an amber on cloudy or near sunset days.  The amber really brightens everything up and makes them pop.  I highly recommend them.

Will you please buy me a pair?

Cool I just visited the site and couldn't find the link to the transition lenses. Could you share???

I usually get my replacement lenses from Visionary Lenses they only sell on eBay, but the lenses are great maybe even better than the stock ones and the prices are awesome.  I've bought from them twice.

But I'd still love to get some gray to amber transitions...

the only problem with gray to amber transitions is that you'll still have to change lenses at one point or another.  Amber won't cut it in high sunlight conditions ...

now a transition that goes from 50% to 10% would be GREAT!

That's the beauty of them.  When it gets lighter they transition back to gray.  No need to change lenses.  They're called Transition Solfx.  The link is...

Go into the sub category of SI O Matter frames and there they are in all styles.

There's a price on them of $100 right now with a retail of $180 according to the site.  Hope this helps.

When taken care of properly a 150 to 250 dollar investment in Oakley sunglasses is worth the price of my eyes, but that's me :-) Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2

Love my Oakley's..I have tried everything including the fakes. The real thing is a big difference over anything else IMHO. Well worth the investment.

Been wearing Oakley sunglasses for years. My eyes have changes and I started wearing Oakley Rx a few years back. I have a clear lens and a polarized iridium lens as well (both for Radars). Haven't found anything that comes close to the quality and optics of Oakley. Will not go on the field without them.

I also really like my Oakley glasses on the field.  I bought this winter, a pair of transition lenses for my Flak Jackets, and I really like them.  They are great for those games that start around dusk and get dark before the game is over.  I don't like putting my glasses on the bill of my cap and I also don't want to set them down for the fear of forgetting them on the field.

On a side note, I talked to my eye doctor yesterday about sunglasses and umpiring.  He cautioned me about using polarized lenses because the can cause a loss in depth perception.  I have not used polarized lenses on the field and know a lot of you guys have.  Has anyone had any problems with polarized lenses on the field?

I have worn nothing but Oakleys for the better part of 20 years now, but I am not a fan of Polorized.....

EBAY will be your friend.  I have bought both items you have listed on EBAY.  They have great prices and the lenses I bought have been great.

BT_Blue;

what came with your Half Jacket's?  Let's start there ...... let me know, I'll give you some suggestions :D

Jeff, I actually recieved a pair or Half Jacket 2.0 XLs with black lenses, non polarized.

Warren, I have looked at them a couple times since my birthday on friday. For my pair it looks like they only have clear, which I do not want. Everything else is polarized.

Boyinr, how do you like the persimmon lenses? Those were the ones I was really looking at. My Natives I have been wearing the last couple years have a yellow lens that I really like and brighten everything up pretty nicely. They also don't color the sky or anything else which I really like.

I like them. I originally thought I wanted the high optic yellow but, they were never in stock so I went with the persimmon. They do a good job on those overcast days when you want to get rid of the glare and sharpen things up.
