  1. I thought those were a defect when I first saw them. Then I realized they were on all the different pics I saw. I don't like this mask shape much, I tried the steel one years ago, but if I did those tabs would be a deal breaker for me.
  2. Are you taking direct shots or are these bouncing balls? I have been wearing this helmet for several months and haven't encountered this problem. I have no neck though so my helmet sits right above my chest protector.
  3. I ordered the low in the V3 and couldn't be happier. They seem to have been designed to go with the Force3 shins because it is a perfect fit. and as others have said they do run a little big. I had to return 1st pair for a smaller size
  4. I haven't noticed any MLB guys wearing these. Seems odd, you would think they would be testing them during the playoffs.
  5. Is there a date for when these new Wilson plate shoes will be available?
  6. I've got a pair of the Wilson Platnium shins that I had TW retrofitted that I never wear because I only wear the Force3 shins now. The Force3s sound like exactly what you are looking for.
  7. I have a black Wilson Aluminum frame for sale. It does not come with pads or a harness. Mask has only been worn in 1 game and wasn't touched by a ball. $75 plus USPS shipping cost
  8. The option on Ump Attire is the MVP4000sl which is the hollow steel cage. The only other option that I know of for the MVP4000 is the MVP4000ti which isn't available from All Star anymore. I called them about a month ago asking if I could just buy the titanium cage and they said the are having trouble getting them in and are money likely going to discontinue the titanium cage.
  9. I cut mine off years ago and like the fit much better. I left the holes alone and haven't had an issue with them. Never snagged my shirt and you can't really see them.
  10. Great transaction with @tpatience.
  11. Looks like exactly what I need. Did you but the regular size or the large?
  12. I have decided to start wearing a bucket and have a few questions about bags. First, I was really unimpressed with the bag that came with the mask, it seems way too big and doesn't stay closed. Does anybody keep their mask in a different bag to protect it while in your equipment bag? Second, what type of equipment bag works best with a HSM? I currently have the Diamond bag and it doesn't seem to be a natural fit anywhere in that bag.
  13. Is the mask still available?
  14. Yes they were small in the waist. Bought the same size as I wear in regular GD pants and they were way too small.
  15. When I bought my Oakley Prizms last year there weren't 2 different options for infield and outfield. From the description on their website it seems like mine are the infield ones. I can't speak highly enough of these lenses. I have always worn a dark grey tint so I was worried about the reddish tint of the Prizms. After wearing them for a season I can say that I like the reddish tint better for baseball than any of the grey lenses I have ever worn.
  16. I picked one up when the vendors were at our high school meeting. I couldn't use this mask coming from a Rawlings ti and a Wilson ti. Way heavier than the standard masks on sale these days.
  17. I bought a few pair but sent them back ( they are either running a little small or I am running a little big these days). I thought they seemed to be good quality and looked similar to the Honigs color. If they had fir I would have kept them.
  18. Once the home plate umpire called the play dead that runner from 3rd should have been returned to third. Don't see how he can score with the ball dead there.
  19. I have umpired in the Houston area for 10 years now and have never been on a dirt infield. Didn't even know it was a thing.
  20. The Wilsons are much better in my opinion.
  21. Don't think they ever stopped doing the shins. Had mine done a few months ago.
  22. New Balance sells these directly as well.
  23. I have had this mask since last Thursday. It is very light, seems lighter than advertised. I think it probably has a lot to do with the pads, which are great. The pads are very similar in design to TW but are a nicer fabric on the outside and noticeably softer than TW pads. I have the Wilson Ti with TW pads as well, holding these two masks I would have to say that the Aluminum one seems lighter.
